Landgraab Industries is a large business corporation owned by the Landgraab family. If it is not the largest corporation in SimNation, it is likely one of the largest. The company creates and sells a large variety of products, most of which are quite expensive. Landgraab Industries is featured prominently in brand names for objects throughout The Sims series.

The company was first mentioned in SimCity 3000:

Landgraab Industries, the sole employee of which is Malcolm Landgraab, owns a controlling interest in many of SimNation's large-scale real estate projects. By advancing the interests of all developers throughout the city, Landgraab Industries earns a small commission at both ends of all transactions. Mr. Landgraab divides his time between his condo in the city and his hacienda on the resort island of San Cordelia.

Properties and Businesses

Admiral Landgraab is hailed as SimNation's most tragic naval hero and has possibly discovered various islands in his youth. His estate Chateau du Landgraab is located in Champs Les Sims and also features as a tomb in The Sims 3: World Adventures. It is said that the Landgraab family more or less founded Sunset Valley and before that Beacon Bay.

The name Landgraab refers to "land grabbing" which is an illegal method for large-scale land acquisitions by businessmen. This is referenced in the description of the Bluewater Real Estate Office, a community lot in Bluewater Village that was previously managed by the Landgraab dynasty, who had taken control of all the land through sheer force and bribery.

Most of the family's wealth appears to come from real estate property. In SimCity 3000, they are associated more with residential property building, a role which resurfaced in The Sims Bustin' Out when most of the town has to pay their rent to Malcolm Landgraab. In The Sims 4: City Living, the Landgraab Apartments, which are located in the high-class Uptown neighborhood of San Myshuno, possibly belong to the Landgraab family.

In other Sims games, the Landgraabs are more associated with commercial property. In The Sims: Hot Date, there is the Landgraab Mall in Downtown. In The Sims 2: Open for Business, Malcolm Landgraab IV owns Club Dante and the Electronics Supercenter in Bluewater Village. In The Sims 3: Ambitions, the default consignment store is the Landgraab Sell n' Swap. The Landgraab family also owned Llama World, a closed amusement park.[citation needed]

Companies and Products

Landgraab Industries is mentioned in some of the chance cards in The Sims 2. In the Business career and the Slacker career it is mentioned that Malcolm Landgraab, the head of Landgraab Enterprises, wants to buy Wrightway Toys, a toy making company.

Landgraab Industries also owns Shiny Things Inc., the company that made the Servo in The Sims: Livin' Large. Many kitchen appliances in the game are made by Shiny Things Inc. A Landgraab Games is mentioned in the description of a painting that comes with The Sims 2: Pets.[citation needed]

Landgraab Systems is one of the servers that can be hacked in The Sims 4. Even though the name implies that they own the company, the Landgraabs have no easier time hacking it.

Landgraab Industries was first mentioned in The Sims in the description of a cheap wooden coffee table from a Sims expansion pack.[citation needed] The Sims 3 includes a computer and a laptop from Landgraab Industries.

Science and Education

In The Sims 4, there are two schools named Landgraab Elementary, and Buckingham High, and are most likely owned by the corporation as the names are referring to the family and the surname of Malcolm Landgraab IV's grandparents.

In The Sims 2: University, the Landgrabb House Dorms and the Landgrabb Society, a secret society in Sim State University, are named after and possibly founded by the Landgraab family.

In The Sims 3, there are multiple science labs that share the Landgraab name: the Landgraab Industries Science Facility, which can be found in Sunset Valley, Barnacle Bay, and Hidden Springs, and the Landgraab Marine Science Facility, which is located in Bridgeport.
