Kurt Shallow is an Elder Sim who lives in a huge and expensive house in Riverview. Kurt is an extremely short-tempered and domineering man that adores being in power. Kurt only lets his son, Tom, and Tom's family, live with him because of a promise to his wife before she died to never kick them out of his mansion. He never took the promise seriously, but he does enjoy having someone to boss around.

He is a retired Power Broker and he wears a dark-cream suit. His lifetime wish is to be a Gold Digger; however, it is strange that he has not yet completed his Lifetime Wish as his wife is deceased at the start of the game. Another strange thing is that in his bio it says his wife "mysteriously departed". This might imply that she died intentionally in order to complete his Lifetime Wish, however it is still not completed since he has never seen her ghost, most likely because she died on another lot.

His trait, Evil, seems to pass on his son and grandchildren, Dallas and MaryKay. He dislikes his daughter-in-law, June Shallow, though it is unknown why this is. It is possible that he knows she is also a Gold Digger.
