Kurt Shallow is an Elder Sim who lives in a huge and expensive house in Riverview. He lets his son, Tom's family, live with him and made a promise to his wife before she died never to kick them out. He is a retired Power Broker (Business Level 10) and he usually wears a dark-cream suit. His Lifetime wish is to be a Gold Digger; however it is strange that he has not yet completed his Lifetime Wish as his wife is deceased at the start of the game. Another strange thing is that in his bio it says his wife "mysteriously departed". This could imply that she was killed in order to complete his Lifetime Wish, however it is still not completed since he has never seen her ghost, most likely because she died on another lot.

His trait, Evil, seems genetic because his son and grandchildren have it. He is a rather dominant man that adores being in power. He dislikes his son's wife, June Shallow, though it is unknown why this is. It is possible that he knows she is also a Gold Digger.
