The Kat family is a pre-made family that can be found in The Sims: Unleashed and in the occupied Lots and Houses bin that came with the The Sims 2: Pets. The Kat family, like its name, is attached to the feline species. Ginia Kat is an (apparent) elder[1] who lives alone in The Sims: Unleashed at 56 Ingleside Drive. She is kept company by her cats Waggles, Boots, Scout, and Maggie. Tara Kat, who is an implied relative of Ginia, does not appear in The Sims: Unleashed and is introduced in The Sims 2: Pets. Like Ginia, she lives alone and is kept company by cats. Her cats include the adult cats Mickey and Samantha, who were left to her by her mother. When she is played for the first time, she has just adopted a new kitten, Faline, and worries how her other two cats will react to the new addition to the family.
The Kat family from The Sims 2: Pets can only be placed once in the game, unlike other family bin families which can be added for each neighborhood. To place them again in different neighborhoods, follow this tutorial.
Onomatology
"Kat" as in cat. Kat is the correct way of spelling cat in Danish and Dutch.
Ginia Kat -- Ginia, short for Virginia, refers to Elizabeth the I, the "Virgin Queen" and its meaning is "Maiden". Ginia is also a Spanish variant of Virginia.
Tara Kat -- Meaning "Star", "Goddess of the Sea", "Shining," "Stone of Destiny," or "A hill where Kings met".
Waggles Kat -- Meaning "To move with short, quick motions".
Boots Kat -- Meaning "Protective footwear".
Scout Kat -- Meaning "To Listen".
