Karen Gast is one of the pre-made NPC nannies residing in Pleasantview, one of the neighborhoods shipped with The Sims 2, and custom neighborhoods. The other two nannies are Calista Despret and Kendal Lawson. She can be made playable by befriending her and asking her to move in, or by marrying her.
If FreeTime is installed, Karen's one true hobby will be Science.
Karen's biggest interests are Food and Travel. According to her SimDNA in SimPE, her hair was black before it turned gray. When she appears in custom neighborhoods, her personality, skills, and interests will be different from those she has in Pleasantview, seen below. Karen has the same facial structure as Melissa Fancey.
She has been known to pick fights with other Sims when she is hired, due to having only 3 nice points. If the player wants to get rid of her, simply fire her and hire another nanny, or kill her to be certain that she won't come back.
