Karaoke machines are objects in The Sims: Superstar, The Sims 2: Nightlife, The Sims 3: Showtime and The Sims 4: City Living.
The Sims: Superstar
|
The Genius Loci Karaoke Stage is a Fame object in The Sims: Superstar, and is the only Fame object that can be used by a Sim with no starpower. Sims can sing a Ballad, Rock, Dance Mix, Big Band, or Country song with this object, but how well they perform will depend on their charisma and creativity skill.
The Sims 2: Nightlife
|
The VovoPhonicSim Karaoke Machine is an object added in The Sims 2: Nightlife. It can be found in the Electronics section of Buy mode, in the audio sub-category. Sims can sing solo or as part of a duet. The Sim picks a random song and begins to sing. Children can use the machine, but cannot be part of a duet.
How well the Sim sings depends on how high his or her creativity skill is. Other Sims can watch and may boo or cheer. They may also dance to the music. Using the karaoke machine builds creativity skill. If FreeTime is installed, it also builds enthusiasm for the Music and Dance hobby.
The Sims 3: Showtime
|
The karaoke machine returned in The Sims 3: Showtime. As in The Sims 2: Nightlife, Sims can sing solo or in a duet, and will pick a random song and begin to sing. Unlike The Sims 2: Nightlife, children can sing in a duet. Other Sims can watch and may boo or cheer, and Sims dance to the music.
Sims who have reached level 8 in the Handiness skill can upgrade it to include a Singing Synthesizer.
The Sims 4: City Living
Karaoke Machine returned in The Sims 4: City Living. Like The Sims 3: Showtime, children can sing in a duet or unlike The Sims 3: Showtime, children cannot sing in a duet.
