Jail is an lot in Miniopolis. It is in the south part of Urbania, right above the Chopper Garage. It is the location of a handful of missions, contains the minigame Hoopz, and contains the recycling center.
Jail[]
The Jail is where the player goes when they're arrested. A player can end up in jail for any of the following reasons:
- Public Urination (Bladder failure)
- Running (During Mission 4, Goal 4, Running from the Law)
- Trespassing (Attempting to enter the Secret Lab in King Tower at a time other then 3am to 4am)
- Being Framed (Random call from Daddy Bigbucks)
- Failing to pay bills
Once jailed, the player has to either pay §100 as bail or wait 6 hours to be freed.
In Mission 1, Goals 5 and 6, the player lives out of the jail until they purchase a home (either the Small Brownstone or Large Brownstone).
Ammenities[]
The jail cell has various motive-increasing objects, such as a bed, shower, TV, toilet, and a tray of food (revealed by dialogue to be a peanut butter and jelly sandwich) that refreshes each day at 4pm. There is also a set of weights in the hallway with the jail cell that can be used to increase an Urb's body skill. In the north part of the jail, there is a secret tunnel that's unlocked by reaching 100 relationship with Det. Dan D. Mann behind the poster of Misty Waters.
Many of the counters have computers on them, but these computers aren't functional and exist solely as decoration.
The Jail also contains a recycling center, where players can sell the recyclable objects that they've accumulated over the course of the game. This can be accessed by talking to the deputy in the entrance to the Jail.
Recycling Center[]
The Recycling Center at the jail will buy the following items:
- Pile of Trash - §2-§12
- Aluminum Cans - §4-§20
- License Plates - §5-§25
- Nuclear Fuel Rods - §70-§190
- Three-Eyed Bog Frogs - §60-§220
Prices of recyclable objects are randomly decided each day between the ranges listed. The prices refresh at the midnight of each day.
Vistors[]
If an Urb is currently in the Jail, they will respond to the phone with the following message:
I'll be in jail <for a little while.> I hope this doesn't count as my one phone call.
Det. Dan D. Mann can frequently be found both in and around the jail. Dusty Hogg and Olde Salty will both show up jailed in the jail cell once a week (even if the player and Gramma Hattie are already in the jail cell). Dusty Hogg will be in jail for four hours at 3am-6am on Fridays, and Olde Salty will be in jail for three hours from 10pm-12am on Saturdays and Sundays.
On Sundays at 10am and 1pm, Giuseppi Mezzoalto can be found entering the jail or next to the weights in the jail's hallway. Despite his background, he does never appears in a cell. This is because he is just passing through Jail to enter the Streetball Court on the roof.
Crystal can be frequently be found hanging out in front of the jail, but she'll never actually be found in it.
Det. Dan D. Mann will always be in front of the jail cell after the player is arrested in Mission 1, Goal 5, Get Out of Jail, even if Dan wouldn't have been in the jail otherwise.
During Mission 4, Goal 4, Running from the Law, Dan will also be in front of the jail cell the first time the player gets arrested for running[confirmation needed]. Gramma Hattie can also be found in the jail cell for the entire duration of Running from the Law.
Streetball Court[]
The Streeball Court takes place on the roof of the jail. Det. Dan D. Mann runs a basketball contest once a day using the basketball court on it.
Ammenities[]
The biggest attraction of the Streetball Court is the job minigame Hoopz, which takes place right next to the basketball hoop. On the north edge of the roof, there are two benches that can recover an Urb's comfort need. There is also a trampoline that quickly restores the fun need[URBZ DS].
Visitors[]
If an Urb is currently in the Streetball Court, they will respond to the phone with the following message:
Who's this? Oh hey. I'll be at the basketball court <for a little while.>
Giuseppi Mezzoalto can be found on the Streetball Court from 11am-12pm on Sundays.
Darius can be found on the roof of the jail the first time the player goes up there. The player can get information on various game mechanics (the Rep groups) from him, but talking to Darius isn't required, and the option to get the 411 from Darius doesn't disappear until the player finished Mission 1, Goal 6, Find a Place to Live. After the player leaves, Darius never be found on the Streetball Court again.
Secret Tunnel[]
Secret Tunnel is an area unlocked by reaching 100 relationship with Det. Dan D. Mann and interacting with a pin-up poster of Misty Waters in the northern part of the jail. This cave works a shortcut between the jail and the Dark Tree in the Bayou. The dialogue that Dan gives the player when it is unlocked is as follows:
Some years ago, a prsoner [sic] escaped from jail! He covered his tracks though, and we never found the tunnel!
Ammenities[]
No objects can be found in the Secret Tunnel, but Petrified Wood, a rare spawnable, can be found in it.
Visitors[]
Heidi Shadows can be found in the Secret Tunnel from 6am-7am.
