The Sims 2: Bon Voyage The Sims 3: Into the Future The Sims 4: Snowy Escape

A hot spring is a natural body of water in which Sims can relax. It is available in The Sims 2: Bon Voyage and The Sims 4: Snowy Escape. They bear strong resemblance to hot tubs, but are treated as more natural and mountain-themed.

A de facto hot spring can also be found in The Sims 3: Into the Future, namely in the lake next to the Wasteland ZEPHYR stop in the Dystopian Future.

By nature, hot springs on ground level are powered by volcanic activity, though this is not outright confirmed in the objects' descriptions.

The Sims 2: Bon Voyage[]

Ancient Soakalicious Spring
Sure, you may have dipped your toes in the local swimming pool, swam in the salty waters of the Bestachawan Ocean, and enjoyed time in your own private backyard hot tub. Until you've soaked your body in the Ancient Soakalicious Spring, however, you are but a minnow amongst sharks. Sit, relax, and let your worries evaporate in the comfort of a natural wonder what's been around since before you were born.

The Ancient Soakalicious Spring is a hot spring included in all three vacation destinations in The Sims 2: Bon Voyage. Up to eight Sims child and older can use the hot spring at a time, and they will change into their swimsuit before entering. Sims will socialize with each other while in the hot spring. Using the hot springs while on vacation will fulfill a vacation memento.

Sims who are pregnant cannot use the hot spring.

Hot springs have a comfort rating of 6, a fun rating of 7, and an environment rating of 10.

The Sims 3: Into the Future[]

3 small lakes in Oasis Landing (of which only 1 is actually accessible to swim in) offer relatively small steaming bubbling water spots while in the Dystopian Future, mostly as a result of Cause Effect Spawner. Swimming within those roughly 3x3sq steam spots, will give the Nature's Hot Tub +30 moodlet for a short while.

In addition to Cause Effect Spawner, a standalone Hot Spring Bubble Spawner exist in the game files.

If made available by editing its OBJD file, it works very spotty at best even if it's made available with gamemodding: Its Buy Mode icon is the Ducksworth of Bathington, the spawner will refuse to be placed anywhere on lots even with MoveObjects, and will refuse to work in seawater even as an Edit Town object; the smaller a lake is, the higher the chance it'll work. Riverview between-bridges lakes, and two lakes near the Bridgeport festival grounds, have the moodlet and sound effects, but not the visual effects.

It works more consistently (including correct visual effects, and being able to place on lots) by using NRaas Debug Enabler → Create Object → BubblingSprings,EP11[note 1] on a body of water, even including pools. However, the moodlet is only granted if there is no roof above the body of water (except if it's in a basement), which must also be on surface level, on the ground floor, or in a basement.

The Sims 4: Snowy Escape[]

The Sims 4: Snowy Escape includes two hot springs that will help Sims stay warm in the cold climate of Mt. Komorebi. One appears more natural, and the other is a man-made hot spring bath.

Up to sixteen Sims, aged child or older, can use a hot spring at the same time. It is expected that Sims bathe or shower before climbing into a hot spring, otherwise they will make it become dirtier faster. Proper Sims refuse to climb into a hot spring before bathing first. Sims are also able to WooHoo in hot springs, and (like The Sims 2) pregnant Sims are not able to use them.

  1. Do not follow the textbox's syntax format guiding (which implies BubblingSprings,EP11,Sims.Gameplay.Objects.Decorative), which'd result in a rubber duck and a "Missing object resource instance" error.
