Grilled Sandwiches are so delicious. Grilled Sandwiches are sooooo delicious! They are really quite wonderful to eat, due to their high degree of deliciousness. Grilled Cheese Sims realize these three important truths about life, which are really just the one truth, when you think about it. In any event, they just love to eat grilled cheese.

Grilled Cheese

Grilled Cheese is a secret aspiration introduced in The Sims 2: Nightlife, The Sims 2: FreeTime and The Sims 4. Grilled Cheese Sims only desire to eat grilled cheese sandwiches all the time. They want to eat, serve, or prepare grilled cheese sandwiches for other Sims. They have fears of burning grilled cheese sandwiches or eating spoiled sandwiches. They also want to learn cooking skills and purchase kitchen appliances with which they can cook grilled cheese sandwiches.

Enabling the aspiration[]

Grilled Cheese is a "secret" aspiration, and as such, it does not appear as a selectable option when a Sim is created, grows into a Teen, or begins their junior year at university. If The Sims 2: FreeTime is installed, though, Grilled Cheese can be chosen as a secondary aspiration.

The only way to obtain Grilled Cheese as a primary aspiration without cheats is by using the ReNuYuSenso Orb. It is not available on the menu of aspirations that the Orb offers, but if a Sim uses the Orb when their Aspiration level is below gold, the machine may malfunction, which will automatically change that Sim's aspiration to Grilled Cheese, without the aspiration options menu showing up. The aspiration can also be obtained through the Sim Modder, or another hacked object like the InSimenator.

Grilled Cheese Sims can change their aspiration just like any other Sims (by reaching junior year at university or using the ReNuYuSenso Orb properly).

Special abilities[]

Most Sims can only make or serve grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch, but Sims with the Grilled Cheese Aspiration always have the option to cook grilled cheese, no matter what time of day or night it is. While making Grilled Cheese normally requires two cooking skill points, Sims with the Grilled Cheese aspiration can make it even if they have no cooking skills.

They also have two unique interactions. First, they can Talk.../About Grilled Cheese Sandwiches. This interaction will most likely be rejected unless the target is a nice Sim or their Aspiration is also Grilled Cheese. Second, they have the special ability to Influence.../Serve Grilled Cheese Sandwiches, whereas Sims with other aspirations cannot select any specific meal when Influencing others to serve food.

Grilled Cheese is the only aspiration in the game to have no careers connected to it. However, it is possible that the Culinary career want was intended to be available to them. If one checks the WantTrees with SimPE, they will be able to see that the Culinary career want has been enabled for them.

The Sims 4[]

Cassandra Goth demonstrating the Grilled Cheese aspiration

The Grilled Cheese aspiration returns in The Sims 4 via patch 30. A Sim needs to eat three plates of Grilled Cheese in a row in order to unlock it.

As this aspiration cannot be selected in Create a Sim, it has no associated bonus trait, though it is still classified as a Food aspiration.

Completing the aspiration[]

Level 1[]

  • Talk about Grilled Cheese with 3 different Sims
  • Eat 10 Grilled Cheese

Level 2[]

  • Eat 10 Grilled Cheese of Excellent quality
  • Prepare 3 group servings of Grilled Cheese
  • Talk about Grilled Cheese with 5 different Sims

Level 3[]

  • Eat Grilled Cheese in space
  • Prepare Grilled Cheese of Excellent quality
  • Talk to the Grim Reaper about Grilled Cheese

Rewards[]

Completing this aspiration rewards Sims with the melt master trait. Melt masters are able to summon plates of grilled cheese without having to cook them, as well as paint grilled cheese-themed paintings. Please note that sims do not automatically summon grilled cheese when they are hungry, they will instead go to a nearby fridge and make a meal. even though they can summon excellent quality grilled cheese immediately. Essentially, you will need to select the Sim and summon a grilled cheese for them to actually do that.

Trivia[]

  • The different life states all share the same limited set of Wants and Fears. Unlike Sims of other Aspirations, Grilled Cheese Sims only roll Wants and Fears that directly relate to their Aspiration.
  • There is only one possible Lifetime Want for Sims with the Grilled Cheese Aspiration: "Eat 200 Grilled Cheese Sandwiches." To keep track of their progress toward this goal, Grilled Cheese Sims receive a positive memory each time they eat a grilled cheese sandwich. Technically speaking, taking the final bite of the sandwich is what triggers the memory and increases the grilled cheese counter. Therefore, the player could have another sim eat most of a grilled cheese sandwich, then have the Grilled Cheese sim finish the sandwich for full sandwich credit. This can be repeated with up to 7 sims plus the Grilled Cheese sim, or more if mods are used to increase the maximum household size. Sandwiches eaten prior to adopting the Grilled Cheese Aspiration will not count.
  • This aspiration is rumored to be inspired by Sims in The Sims 2 cooking this sandwich autonomously. However, it might also be based on the tradition of giving the employees grilled cheese sandwiches to eat when there is a significant milestone at Maxis.
  • Deliberately causing your Sim to get the Grilled Cheese Aspiration is actually a very good way to build up their aspiration meter and rewards points very quickly. Grilled Cheese Sims are very easy to please, especially if their cooking skill is halfway decent. Cooking Grilled Cheese Sandwiches a few times and serving them to other Sims can quickly boost the Sim into platinum aspiration, and when the user has reached the desired aspiration level and number of rewards points, it's a simple matter to change their aspiration back to whatever the user desires.
  • If a Grilled Cheese Sim is having a date with another Sim, they will roll wants and fears that directly connect with their date rather than their aspiration.
  • In The Sims 2: FreeTime, there is a glitch where having the Bottomless Stomach benefit may cause Sims to lose weight, rather than gain it at a slower rate, when overeating grilled cheese sandwiches.
  • The Grilled Cheese aspiration may have originally been intended to be available in Create a Sim, as aspiration icon images for the aspiration selection can be found in the game files.
  • In terms of Chemistry, two Grilled Cheese sims have a +2 point bonus attraction score towards eachother, other sims with compatible aspirations only have +1 point.
