The Goodie family is a pre-made family that can be found in the family bin, after the Apartment Life expansion pack is installed. The family includes the married elders Faith and Herbert Goodie, both of whom are Knowledge Sims.
As Apartment Life introduces the feature to transform Sims into witches, their last name is possibly based on the famous accused-witch Sarah Goode. It's also possible they are a spoof on the Oldie family, as they are similarly an elderly married couple in the family bin, and that their surname is taken from the phrase "an oldie but a goodie".
An alternate family biography can be found by checking the neighborhood template with SimPe: "Having lived full and wonderful lives, the Goodies have decided that it’s time to see the world! Will they find the adventure of their lives?"
Onomatology
Goodie: "having the right or desirable quality," "fit, adequate, belonging together," "to unite, be associated, suitable". In the Italian version, the Goodie family is called "Bellavita", literally menaning "beautiful life".
