Goneril Capp ( /ˈɡɒnərɪl kæp/) is a pre-made playable Sim from Veronaville, one of the neighborhoods shipped with The Sims 2, and earlier in her life, Roaring Heights. She is the eldest daughter and child of Consort and Contessa. Her three younger siblings are Regan, Kent and the late Cordelia. Oddly, despite her father's memories and her return in Roaring Heights placing her as the oldest of Consort and Contessa's children, the family tree in Veronaville names her as their second child.

Biography

Life leading up to The Sims 3

In The Sims 3, Goneril is a child, with seven days left before becoming a teen. She lives with her parents Consort and Contessa and her younger sister Regan. Her mother is pregnant with her third child.

Goneril is currently enrolled in Elementary School as a C student. She is good friends with her family and does not have any skills at the start of the game.

Life leading up to The Sims 2

By the time of The Sims 2, Goneril has married Albany Norman and had four children with him: Miranda, Hal, Desdemona and Ariel. Often going unnoticed, she has brown hair while both her parents (as seen in one of the Capp photos) have blonde hair. She, along with the rest of her family, is in the family bin. Oddly, she has the option to resurrect her maternal grandparents, whom she presumably never met. Also, she does not remember learning any toddler skills though her father remembers teaching them to her. She has enough skills to reach Level 7 of the Business career, which is Vice President, though she is unemployed at the start of the game. She is voiced by Zoe Galvez.

Despite their marriage, Albany and Goneril are not in love. This could be an indicator that their marriage was arranged. Judging by Albany's personality, bio, and aspiration, he probably only married Goneril to have children and perhaps for her money. Still, both she and Albany have memories of falling in love with each other.

When the family is first played, Goneril is 21 days from becoming an elder. While most playable Sims in The Sims 2 had their first kiss as a teen, she had her first kiss as an adult.

When editing in SimPE, Goneril's hair genes are for red hair, meaning her hair could have been dyed. This also explains why all her children have genes for red hair: Miranda carries both dominant and recessive genes for red hair, as well as Desdemona, while Hal carries a recessive gene for red and Ariel a dominant for it.

When editing in SimPE, Goneril's skin tone genetics are not recognized. Because of this, she may sometimes produce a child with dark skin regardless if the other Sim doesn't have genetics of this skin tone. It appears that the installment of some expansion packs fix this strange behavior.

Also when editing in SimPE, Goneril's zodiac sign is not recognized. This could explain why she doesn't have a zodiac sign mismatch in-game like most pre-made playable Sims from the base game do. If FreeTime is installed, her predestined hobby will be cuisine. Strangely, if Goneril's appearance is extracted with SimPE to Body Shop, she will be thin instead of fit. The reason for this is because she has the fitness texture for thin Sims instead of the one for fit Sims.

This implies that she was originally thin and her fitness level was subsequently modified with a program like SimPE. The only way for her to have the fitness texture for fit Sims without hacks is by having her overeat until she becomes thin, and then have her workout until she is fit again. This also happens with many other pre-made Sims in The Sims 2.

Goneril is the cruel eldest daughter in King Lear. She is married to the Duke of Albany.
