Gobias Koffi is a pre-made playable adult Sim residing in Sunset Valley, the world shipped with The Sims 3. He lives by himself in a modern beach house. He is the son of the late Gaylord, who is buried at Pleasant Rest Graveyard. When first played, he is 17 days away from aging up into an elder.
Gobias does not have any friends, but he is acquainted with the Frio and Wolff families as well as his boss. He starts out with three skill points in handiness and four in gardening, and he is employed as a Fertilizer Analyst in the science career. His career of Fertilizer Analyst could be a reference to his presumed sexuality, as he spends his day analyzing, or looking at, fertilizers, which is the reproductive role played by men. It could also be a reference to the career of his inspiration, Tobias Funke, who worked as an 'Analytical Therapist'.
His family is one of three in Sunset Valley to have a special plant- the flame fruit bush- in their garden in the beginning of the game, the others being the Langerak and the Wainwright families. This may be because Gobias works as a fertilizer analyst, allowing him to receive the special plant seeds from his career. Additionally, he may own a flame fruit bush as a reference to the late 20th century slang term 'flaming[1]', used for camp gay men.
He is the only playable Sunset Valley Sim who has the never nude trait; Skip Javeed, an NPC, also has the trait.
In The Sims 4, there is a book written by Gobias, called Bangers are the Wurst. This further ties in to the speculation that Gobias is gay, as it suggests Gobias is very familiar with different types of sausages and other symbols of phallic imagery. This is also a reference to The Man Inside Me, a book written by his inspiration, Tobias Funke, and possibly a line from Mrs. Featherbottom, Tobias' singing nanny alter ego. In season 2 of Arrested Development, Mrs. Featherbottom says, "Who'd like a banger in the mouth?"

Trivia[]
- It is implied that Gobias is homosexual. However, if he is not played and story progression is left on, he will usually be married to a woman and have children. This may indicate that he is possibly bisexual.
- Gobias' name is a reference to the actor David Cross' character, Tobias, on the FOX/Netflix show Arrested Development. In the first season of the series, Tobias and his brother-in-law, Gob, decide to start a business, and come up with the name "Gobias... as in 'go buy us a cup of coffee'", hence Gobias Koffi. Tobias' homosexual tendencies and verbal double-entendres cause his sexuality to be called into question throughout the series. Gobias' sexual orientation is unknown. Gobias also shares Tobias' never nude trait (a term coined by the show's writers to describe Tobias's fear of nudity) and he bears a physical resemblance to David Cross, the actor who portrays Tobias in the series.
