|Girbits has a normal name, but he instead prefers to take on the name of his online game avatar. Instead of going to a show on Friday nights like other teens, Girbits chooses to spend his night in front of the warm glow of the computer screen leveling up his characters. He's also not adverse to a little computer hacking to pass the time. Although he unfortunately hacked the wrong guy, and now Addison Batez is a sworn enemy of his. Since moving in with his grandma, Girbits has enjoyed his stay (maybe a bit too well, since he has little motivation to ever move out…)|
|Game||The Sims 3: Showtime|
Girbits Worthington is a pre-made playable teenage Sim, who resides in Starlight Shores, the world introduced in The Sims 3: Showtime. He lives with his grandmother, Melanie Worthington. Girbits is 5 days from being a young adult, and has yet to learn any skills. He is friends with his grandmother and Conrad Anderson, and enemies with Addison Batez, because Girbits hacked his computer. Girbits has a neutral "acquaintance" relationship with his mother at the start of the game, which indicates he may never have actually lived with her, or spent much time with her if he did. Girbits loves playing computer games and he is well treated by his grandmother, who loves his company despite the fact that she doesn't understand his games.
"Girbits" is stated to be the character's online gaming name (derived from the Simlish word for "llama"), which he has now adopted as a nickname, to the point where he sometimes forgets what his given name is. A similar situation happens with Cycl0n3 Sw0rd in Sunset Valley. It is possible that Girbits is the father or grandfather of Francis J. Worthington III from The Sims 2: University, which would mean that his undisclosed real first name may be Francis; and he bears a significant physical resemblance to that character, suggesting that this may have been intentional on the part of the creators. If this is the case, he is more likely to be the first Francis J. Worthington and grandfather of the The Sims 2 character, since he inherits the family name from his mother's side, and his father is unknown. This would also fit the usual time-frame of The Sims 3, since the majority of installments are thought to take place fifty years before The Sims 2.
