Life leading up to The Sims[]
Ginia lives in a small cottage on the outskirts of Old Town. Whether or not she was ever married is not stated. She has four cats: Waggles, Boots, Scout, and Maggie. She seems to be obsessed with cats, naming several characters in the children's books she writes after them.
Ginia's thumbnail is sometimes mistaken by players for Cornelia Goth due to their similar appearance.
Life leading up to The Sims 2[]
Ginia is not seen in The Sims 2, but her daughter, Tara, and her three cats, Mickey, Samantha, and Faline, make an appearance in the Pets expansion pack. Although not seen in Tara's family tree, Ginia is mentioned in Tara's family description. It seems that she inherited Mickey and Samantha (who are possibly the offspring of Ginia's cats) from her mother.

- Ginia’s personality and appearance may be based on the American illustrator and writer of children’s books, Tasha Tudor. Both wear old-fashioned clothes with headwear and live a rural lifestyle in a quaint cottage with animals about.
- It is possible that Ginia actually adopted Tara, because Tara was not included in Unleashed. If The Sims 2 standards are retrofitted to The Sims, Ginia would be too old to become pregnant, but could have adopted Tara as a child.
- Alternatively, Ginia may be Tara's grandmother, aunt, or some other relative.
- In The Sims, the difference between older and younger adults was strictly cosmetic. So while Ginia was elderly for storytelling purposes, the game mechanics allowed her to have children like any other adult.
