Ginia Kat is a pre-made, playable Sim in The Sims who appears in the Unleashed expansion pack with her four cats: Waggles, Boots, Scout and Maggie.

She is the mother of Tara Kat. Her husband, if any, is unknown.

Life leading up to The Sims

Ginia Kat lives in a small cottage on the outskirts of Old Town. Whether or not she was ever married is not stated. She has four cats: Waggles, Boots, Scout and Maggie. She seems to be obsessed with cats, she even writes children's books about them as they are her main influence. She has gray hair, a pink dress with a flower apron and pink bandanna. She starts out as a Substitute Teacher in the Education career track.

Life leading up to The Sims 2

Ginia Kat is not seen in The Sims 2, but her daughter, Tara Kat, and her three cats, Mickey, Samantha and Faline, make an appearance in the Pets expansion pack. Although not seen in Tara's family tree, Ginia is mentioned in Tara's family description. It seems that she inherited Mickey and Samantha (who are possibly the offspring of Ginia's cats) from her mother.

  • It is speculated by many fans that Ginia actually adopted Tara, due to the fact that Tara was not included in The Sims: Unleashed. If The Sims 2 standards are retrofitted to The Sims, Ginia would be too old to become pregnant, but could have adopted Tara as a child.
  • Some players believe she is Holly Alto but she changed her name because she was ashamed of her parents.
  • Because she only gives the appearance of an elder she can still have children.
