Gilbert has crushes on both Breanna Custer, one of the Bluewater Village townies, and Trina Dalton, one of J'Adore Bakery's employees. However his crush on Trina isn't mutual, as she only considers him an acquaintance. Like most pre-made single Sims in Bluewater Village, Gilbert has no gender preference at the start of the game. In his inventory, he has the bakery's deed, and four serving platters: berry pie, gelatin, layer cake and cheesecake.
Even though Gilbert has black hair, his SimDNA reveals that his natural hair color is actually blond. This can also be distinguished by the color of his eyebrows. If Gilbert's appearance is extracted to body shop, his facial structure will be different. This is his genetic facial structure, and it will pass on instead of his visible face if he has children.
