Gibbi Point[1] is a world shipped with The Sims 4: Adventure Awaits. The world is expansive and rich with lore for Sims to uncover. Players can find the Adventure Story Map at Jellyfish Junction to learn about quests and dive deeper into Peculiar Plumbird's history. It is a getaway destination filled with activities and facilities for Sims of all ages, and each neighborhood features public playgrounds for children to enjoy and embrace their childhood. The world also hosts a number of festivals where Sims can meet other townies and discover even more about the region's unique heritage. The endangered Plumbird can occasionally be spotted wandering somewhere in the world, though sightings are extremely rare.
Description[]
Many, many years ago, before it was inhabited, a great wave rushed through Gibbi Point to create a lush and fertile landscape. It became home to Jellyfish, Glow Worms and Plumbirds; it’s also where the world’s largest geyser, unusual caves of crystal, and a bioluminescent bay were formed. But it was more than these unusual creatures and natural wonders that drew Sims from all over to Gibbi Point.

Real-World Inspirations[]
Etymology[]
- The name origin of Gibbi Point is unknown. However, it is possible to have Aboriginal Australian root, in Australian Aboriginal languages like Dharug and Arabana, the word "gibba" or "giba" means "stone" or "rock." Combined with the word "point," where refers to a narrow piece of land that extends into a body of water in geography. The name is likely named after Fletcher View peninsula in Jellyfish Junction, where the Lonely Lighthouse stands.
- Wanderwood Wilds is simply comprised of "wander" and "wood," where "wander" refers to roaming or exploring, and "wood" means "forest" in British English. Combined with "wilds," it emphasized the untamed and natural landscape which the neighborhood is located in. The name can be translated to "a wild forest to be explored."
- Jellyfish Junction is named after the jellyfish, a popular delicacy in the world, combined with the word "junction" which refers to a place where two or more lands, roads, or waterways meet. The name may reference the network of jetties that connect the area with others in the town square. However, it could also be named after the neighborhood's cove, which borders the open sea beyond view.
- Crystal Valley is named after the crystals that appeared in the dried-up gold mines following an unusual occurrence long ago, according to world's lore. A "valley" refers to a low area of land between higher ground, and the name reflects its location settled down east of the mountain range in Gibbi Point.
Settings & Cultural Influences[]
- Gibbi Point is thought to be inspired by Aotearoa (New Zealand). Additionally, it is also said to be inspired by Australia, and national parks of the United States.
- The landscape may be inspired by Queenstown, a popular resort town in Otago, New Zealand. It could also be inspired by the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia, which is a coastal city with a hinterland full of rainforests, national parks and rockpools, which is also a popular tourist destination.
- The Plumbird of Gibbi Point heavily resembles the rare Takahē minus the green plumbob-like feather. The Takahē itself is a flightless bird, endemic to Te Waipounamu (New Zealand's South Island).
In Wanderwood Wilds:
- The Hothead Rock Geyser and hot springs with sulfur deposits resemble those found in Rotorua, New Zealand, as well as in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming.
In Crystal Valley:
- The Electric Lagoon with the glowworm backdrop resembles the Waitomo Glowworm Cave in New Zealand. The cave is known for arachnocampa luminosa, a glowworm species of fungus gnat that is endemic to New Zealand.
