Gertrude Dane is one of the pre-made, yet unplayable deceased ancestral Sims who resided during her lifetime in Veronaville, one of the neighborhoods shipped with The Sims 2. She was the wife of Hamlet Sr., the mother of Hamlet Jr., the mother in-law of Tobea Dane (née Scott), and the grandmother of Cornwall Capp (né Dane). She is completely unplayable and cannot be resurrected in-game without the use of mods and hacks like SimPE.
Unlike most deceased Veronaville Sims, Gertrude has personality points and interests. But like most deceased Veronaville Sims, she also has memories. According to Gertrude's SimDNA in SimPE, her hair was black before it turned grey. According to her age data, she had 13 days left in the elder life stage when she died.
Gertrude has no memories of her husband, and although she has the memory of WooHooing with Mystery Sim, she doesn't have the memory of Hamlet Jr.'s birth. So basically apart from the WooHoo memory, she only has Create a Sim memories.
Gertrude is the name of the Queen of Denmark in Shakespeare's Hamlet.
