'''General Chip Grunt''' is one of the pre-made, yet unplayable [[Sim]]s in ''[[The Sims 2]]''. He resided during his lifetime in [[Strangetown]], one of the neighborhoods shipped with the game. Chip was the husband of [[Missy Grunt]], the father of [[General Buzz Grunt]] and the grandfather of [[Tank Grunt]], [[Ripp Grunt]], and [[Buck Grunt]], and ex-father-in-law of [[Lyla Grunt]]. His parents were [[General Rock Grunt]] and [[Wanda Grunt]]. Not much else is known about him, since he is only seen in the family tree of his grandchildren.

According to Chip's SimDNA in [[Package editor#SimPE|SimPE]], his hair was brown before it turned grey. According to his age information, he had 16 days left in the elder life stage when he died. As with many pre-made Sims in Strangetown, the "Skintone" part of Chip's Sim DNA is missing. According to his son's memories, Chip died before Buzz and Lyla got engaged.

He has no [[skill]] points, like most other deceased Sims, contradicting his eligibility for promotion to General. Judging from Chip's [[personality]], he was probably more relaxed and easy going than his son, unlike what players would think about the former. If the player examines Chip's genetics, they will find that they are all inconsistent with his parents' genetics. [[Bjorn Beaker]] also has this case.
