Please excuse me if this topic appears from out of the blue, but I have had some thoughts on this topic for sometime now and I feel that the best thing for me to do is to share my thoughts with the community.
Ever since the creation of this thread, there has been some discussion between myself and other users of Chat, us believing that Chat has enough Chat Moderators due to the fact of there being three active Chat Mods and two active Administrators on Chat, thus making us feel that Chat Mod requests should be closed. But, after some thought, we have decided that we were wrong in thinking that and thus the discussion came to an end.
Until recently, however, we have come to the realisation that some of the rules that are set for Chat Mod requests are a little too easy, thus allowing any user to apply for the role of Chat Moderator. That is why I have decided to propose a new and improved ruleset for those who are willing to request themselves to become a Chat Moderator.
Please note; This is a draft of what I have came up with here, and if I'm being honest, I just tweaked a couple of the rules that are already set.
Minimum requirements
- Be an active user of Chat (on chat every day, or nearly every day) for at least four months.
- Having a fair knowledge on how Chat works and the rules of using Chat.
- A good record of civil behavior - if you have been told off for messing around or are constantly bringing up heart-touching (i.e sensitive topics) or inappropriate topics, then you are not ready for this.
- Having good English skills is a necessity as English is the only language allowed on main Chat.
- Spking liek dis meens ur not rdy 2 bcome Chat mod.
I cannot stress this enough, but I feel that Chat Mod requests have to have stricter rules for applying, as do many others in Chat. I really like the idea of this new rule. As you may see, users like Sgt. Me, and all that, were banned from chat multiple times, and I think this will do The Sims Wiki a lot of good. :)

- I'm mostly in support of this, with one or two possible changes or questions. First, it might be worth loosening the requirement on the first point... saying 'using Chat daily' could be interpreted literally - if you miss one day in a four month period, you're ineligible. I'd suggest it be worded something like "Be an active user of Chat (on chat every day, or nearly every day) for at least four months." I
do(derp) also am a bit curious about what 'heart-touching' means. However, if the general idea of that rule is to limit offensive topics, then I'd support it within reason. Seems like a good solution to the issues we've faced. I'd support LiR's idea of replacing "using Chat daily" with some sort of broader activity definition but overall I think this will work. Lost Labyrinth

Okay, so I changed the first rule to what LiR suggested. And to define "heart-touching" topics, I meant topics that other users in Chat would find hard to discuss either with the thought of the topic or if they had experienced whatever the topic would consist of. I'm totally cool with this, I think it will help enforce chatmods to have higher expectations and there to be a strict chat which could help with stopping people saying "heart-touching" things. Jason (Talk) {{{1}}} 19:49, August 24, 2013 (UTC)
