I noticed that Dustin Broke has two pages, one for The Sims 2 (Dustin Broke and one for The Sims 4 (Dustin Broke (The Sims 4: Get Famous)). I made a joke on Discord about you "poking the hornets nest" by bringing this us, because this is a quite complex issue that has been discussed several times before. (see 1 - 2 - 3 - 4) It's incredibly frustrating that we've never reached a clear consensus after several long, involved discussions on this or similar topics. In the absence of a clear solution, several ad hoc changes have been attempted, which results in internal inconsistencies for how we handle pages for same-named Sims (usually in regards to their TS4 versions, but not always). I'd be inclined to just toss out all the previous discussions and start from square one, because there's just so much going on here and it's been a thorn in our side for almost six years without a solution.
I realize that I have yet to even say a single word about Dustin Broke. The precedent is very unclear about whether these articles should merge. My gut impression is that I think they should merge. But, the idea of setting a precedent based on this one example isn't one that I relish. But I also don't want to then go Sim by Sim through the entire wiki and hold separate discussions about whether they should each be merged/split/whatever. But I am also nowhere near ready to try and have yet another discussion to try and solve an unsolvable problem. -- LostInRiverview talk · blog · contribs 05:05, 4 March 2021 (UTC)
