I know I suggested this before, but I'm making my idea more clear.

Featured Sim can be a part of the Featured Content. It is not connected with Featured Articles. It can be featured in the bottom on the main page. Here are some rules:

• Featured Sim can be on a weekly basis, 2-weekly basis or a monthly basis.
• Any Sim can be featured, i.e. both NPCs or pre-made controllable Sims.
• Articles of featured Sims do not need to be long or complex (NPC pages are usually short, for example).
• Sims can still be part of the Featured Articles - but, of course, quality is important here.
• Quality of articles is not very important in the Featured Sim. Featured Sim is just meant to be fun.
• Voting can be based on popularity, quality or just the general "This is my favourite Sim" or "I like this Sim", but one must give good reasons for nominating someone.

This idea isn't so bad, I think. We do have a lot of Sims with different backgrounds in the game. Maybe not as "Featured" Sim, but perhaps as "Sims of the week" or something. We may be able to showcase them like Featured Fanon in the main page. Nikel _{Talk – Vote!} 06:12, February 3, 2013 (UTC)

The main page isn't a matter to consider now. I'm sure we can fit it anyhow. I would say that this "Sim of the Week" would be like summarizing a Sim's personality, backstory, or anything that makes them well-known, or, if they're not well-known, what makes them unique. Or maybe we could even set up so every day it would re-roll who will be the next Sim to be showcased? What's important now is that what we would like to showcase about this Featured Sim. I kinda like it, and it's not handful to manage. I want to know what others think. My opinion is that "Sims are unique." By backstory, that is. They're all puddingfaced in TS3. Nikel _{Talk – Vote!} 15:35, February 3, 2013 (UTC)

Yeah, The Sims 3 Sims are kind of weird. Btw. I think it's implied that the "Sim of the Week" can be any Sim from any life stage and life state, and from every Sims game. Even deceased Sims can be featured (if they have a good backstory). This doesn't imply for unborn Sims, however. Fanon Sims can not be "Sims of the Week", since there's already the "Featured Fanon". I think this is a good idea... except I'm not sure where on the Main Page this could be fit in. Perhaps we could add it to that "rotating feature" slot, which is presently occupied by either Featured Tutorial, Featured Fanon or Featured Fan Fiction (it's randomized). -- LostInRiverview ^{talk ~ blog} 01:20, February 15, 2013 (UTC)

I really can't see how this would work...if you're nominating a Sim article based on quality then you may as well just nominate it to be a Featured Article. Nominating a Sim based on popularity does seem to be the redeeming factor here but in that case it's not really something I'd put on the Main Page to feature, as the stuff that goes there is meant to show the best content of the wiki rather than content that's most popular with the community. This fits more in line with Battles imo as it does seem to come under the vein of "something fun".

That said, and this has been said for months now by several users including myself to no avail, Featured Content in its entirety is in a dire need of a revamp due to the lack of community input. I'd honestly rather fix that up first before adding something new to the formula just to prevent things getting even more out of hand. Maybe if we were sure of the route we wanted to go with Featured Content that it would accommodate new ideas, such as this, then maybe I'd be more in support of it, but in it's current state, I really can't see how this would work...
