In The Sims 2, Flo Broke is a pre-created, yet deceased Sim who appears as a grandmother of Dustin and Beau Broke, and will appear in the family tree of their as-yet-unborn brother. In the The Sims 3, she is a pre-created, playable Sim.

Although Flo is no longer living at the start of The Sims 2, the Broke Family tree tells us that Flo was married to Flat Broke, and that they are the parents of Skip Broke. All three of them are deceased before the start of The Sims 2 storyline, which leaves Skip's wife, Brandi, widowed and raising their sons (Dustin, Beau, and an unborn son, which she is expecting at the start of the game), who are Flo's grandchildren.

Life Leading Up To The Sims 3

In The Sims 3, she is an elder who lives in Riverview with her husband Flat, daughter Ruby, and son Skip, as well as her brother-in-law Buck and his two children Trigger and Susie Broke. Since Flo is in her elder stage at the start of the game it is likely she had Skip in the last days of her adulthood.

Since her hair is an unnatural red color with greying roots, highlights, and tips, it is implied that she dyes her hair.

Life Leading Up To The Sims 2

She is deceased at the start of The Sims 2, and likely died before the start of The Sims. She appears to have changed her style between The Sims 3 and her death, toning down her makeup and letting her hair go gray. By the time of The Sims 2, her children have died, though the only one we know about is Skip, who got married to Brandi Broke and had two grandchildren by her. What happened to her daughter Ruby, and to the rest of her family, is unknown. Checking her Sim DNA in SimPE suggests that her natural hair color was blonde.
