Life leading up in The Sims 2
Although Flat is no longer living at the start of The Sims 2, the Broke family tree shows that Flat was married to Flo Broke, and that they are the parents of Skip Broke. All three of them were deceased before the start of The Sims 2s storyline, which leaves Skip's wife, Brandi Broke, widowed and raising her sons (Dustin Broke, Beau Broke, and an unborn son, which she is expecting at the start of the game), who are Flat's grandchildren. At the time of his death, Flat's hair had gone fully grey, he had no beard and wore his hair in a ponytail, which is odd considering that he was balding in The Sims 3, which took place before The Sims 2. The fact that he has brown hair in The Sims 3, and his natural hair color is blonde in The Sims 2, implies he dyed it brown while he was an elder. Strangely, while he had brown eyes in The Sims 3, he had dark blue eyes in The Sims 2.
Flat uses a character portrait pose that was discontinued during development. According to his age data in SimPE, Flat had 23 days left when he died.
