- Zoe seems to be based on Jess Day, the titular character from the sitcom New Girl, a television series about an outgoing and slightly eccentric woman living with three male roommates. However, her appearance is similar to that of Jess's best friend, Cece Parekh, who is indian. Zoe's name is likely a reference to Zooey Deschanel, the actress who portrays Jess in the show (and whose name is pronounced "Zoe").
