- Despite saying that Helga was his girlfriend before her demise, he has no relationship points with her, and Sims normally keep all relationship points, even to dead Sims, though they could have broken up while she was still alive. The relationship may have been one-sided, or a delusion on Red's part.
- Red S. has the "love memory' for Helga, but she doesn't share the same memory with him.
- His name is a play on redshirt, an expendable extra in a sci-fi show. In the original Star Trek series, security personnel were denoted by a red uniform shirt.
