The Sims 4: Seasons[]
Thunderbird cannot be created in Create a Pet. Instead, when there is a thunderstorm, there is a high chance a thunderbird lands on one of the trees in the current lot. Like other large birds, it would not land on the ground until a Sim call it and Sim can make friends with it to carry it home.
As with other pets, the thunderbird is not controllable. It can do mean interactions toward Sims that does not have high enough relationship with it. One of the mean interaction is thunder strike, when it electrocute a Sim or a Pet and apply a Singed moodlet.
During Spring, Summer and Fall, thunderbirds can call a thunderstorm automatically, more likely if the bird is not trained. If trained, Sim can order the bird to create a thunderstorm. During Winter, the thunderbirds are weak and are less likely to fly outdoor. Its ability is similar to the special lightning power.
Interactions with other packs[]
- If The Sims 4: Jungle Adventure is installed, a new bird relic can be found in the adventures. When used, a thunderbird is summoned to call a thunderstorm to the lot. Commonly, the storm only lasts 30 seconds and do no harm. Rarely, its lightning strike random Sim outdoor every minute.
- A new secret society in The Sims 4: Discover University that is dedicated to raising and collecting birds. One of its ultimate goal, is to befriend a thunderbird.
