Thessalonike Ramsey, née Thalamaia, born November 19, 1923, is one of the Beauty 4, and a current member of the Scholars' Alliance. Thessalonike is the Physical one of the Beauty 4, having mastered Athletic Skill and Martial Arts in short time. However, Thessalonike is by no means only physical: due to the Beauty 4 policy of encouraging each other to have at least a rudimentary base of other skills, Thessalonike is decently skilled, having in addition 5 points in Charisma, 6 points in Cooking, 7 points in Fishing, 4 points in Gardening, 1 point in Handiness, and 5 points in Logic. Thessalonike is of blood type A.

Thessalonike is the second of the Scholars' Alliance to get married, and surprising there since Thessalonike has a reputation of a cheater. However, the relationship with Dave Ramsey has been steady at all times.

Anabasis[]

Thessalonike might have been friendly, and thus categorized as an extrovert by both Demetria and Kallisto, but Thessalonike was rather horrid in choice of clothing, as bad, if not worse, than even Kallisto, although Achaia has her signature knee-high sock with the duck design. Like Kallisto, Thessalonike was not too eager to find a mate nor enjoy parties for its own sake, and in that matter they bonded somewhat, although due to Kallisto's indifference to just about all the Beauty 4, even Thessalonike didn't build a significant friendship with Kallisto, just enough to be considered friends.

Thessalonike always liked the Martial Arts and was too eager to visit China: there Thessalonike found another common factor with Kallisto, although Kallisto had a different motivation for developing Martial Arts skill. Kallisto's tendency to prefer home was only beaten by the prospect of skills, and likewise, Thessalonike found it better to be a lone wolf, although Thessalonike was assigned as a pair with Demetria: Thessalonike and Demetria, despite inherent differences, did not mind each other: both were friendly, although the former with a lack of sense of humor at the time that knocked Demetria to her sleep at one time (although it was fortunate that Demetria did not have the celebrity status), and found each other to be fine friends, lasting them ever since.

Thessalonike and Kallisto spent what little they did in the exercise room, standing side by side smashing stuff with the board breaker. Ironically, Thessalonike's Disciplined trait was a detriment of sorts, since Kallisto would be forced to break enough stone boards and master the Timber Terminator before Thessalonike because Thessalonike could transition to the Space Rock so fast.

Collapse, Strife, Marriage[]

Main Article: Time Paradox#Romance Heresy

However, the powerful household, despite its seemingly strong bond, was actually hanging by a thread: When the second timeline began (and along with that the return of the Alkmaionidai, as well as a new character, Lysistrata), Christopher Steel became a critical variable that destroyed the delicate balance of the Scholars' Alliance. Christopher Steel was essentially the Don Lothario minus the WooHoo element, and with his great kissing ability captivated and juggled 4 girls at one time, two of them happening to be Hypatia and Achaia. Demetria never was a fan of the concept of academic monasticism, something that Hypatia led the household to ever since Hypatia essentially became hegemon, and when it was discovered that both Hypatia and Achaia were romantically involved with Christopher, Demetria took Achaia's position and defended it rather too well, and the relationship between Demetria and Hypatia went sour. This triggered Kallisto's secession and the creation of the Union of the Insane, and with Stratonike leaving as well, the Scholars' Alliance's power started to take a downhill path.

The temporary crisis ended when Kallisto took in Hypatia as a refugee, but the greater problem now loomed over: without Hypatia, the Scholars' Alliance now lost the central authority, and without such organization, the sims there could not organize themselves to exert power. Even worse, unity even there was starting to fall apart when Thessalonike and Achaia took radically different path in romance: Thessalonike cheating when it suited her, and Achaia staying true to Christopher even when the Union had public opinion in their fingertips and were quite capable of using that to demonize Christopher. This led to them disliking each other, and with the ancestors-turned-daughters Lilian and Salina also having their own thoughts, the Scholars' Alliance was ran to the ground, their wealth an hollow image of power that they no longer possessed.

Despite this, Thessalonike had a turn for the better (at least in normal POV) when Thessalonike met Dave Ramsey. All forecasts predicted that Dave would simply be another stepping stone in Thessalonike's romance life, but the neighborhood was shocked when Thessalonike did not cheat Dave. In fact, Thessalonike accepted Dave's proposal, and sooner or later got married some time after Demetria got married to Abraham.

Hekatonschoinos and relations with the Church[]

Thessalonike accompanied her companion Demetria alongside their respective husbands and Stephanophoros into Kallisto's world of Hekatonschoinos. There Thessalonike and Demetria kept low, visiting places like any other sims without drawing massive attention to themselves like they did in Sunset Valley. However, as the landmasses of Hekatonschoinos was Church-owned, relations with the church would be inevitable. However, Thessalonike developed a positive relations by forming a philosophical school centered on Martial Arts, derived from the concept of "Sound mind and Sound body." The idea was good to the church: after all, Martial Arts was a skill and thus its study was encouraged. Despite the fact that Thessalonike has not yet visited the Hekatonschoinos' Martial Academy Palaistra Stratiotike, the church showed interest in lending Thessalonike the Palaistra, if Thessalonike wills it to train her disciples, which was quite lacking despite a general interest in Martial arts, particularly by the Kagawa family and the Attalid family.

Thessalonike, despite the amity with Kallisto, grew more restless: Thessalonike found the residence at Hekatonschoinos absolutely pointless: very few lived in the said town, and activities were limited at best: it was a new landmass after all, but Thessalonike just couldn't handle it. In fact, when Thessalonike heard of the growing schism between Antigone and Kallisto and later Achaia and Kallisto, Thessalonike despite her Sunset Valley experience with Achaia turning sour decided that Kallisto was a greater threat to her desired lifestyle as a whole. As such, when Kallisto was still occupied training the disciples in Twinbrook, Thessalonike helped Achaia and Antigone escape, which led to the mass exodus that led to the effective depopulation of already sparsely populated Hekatonschoinos. As for Thessalonike herself, she would go inactive until...

The Founding of the Gladiatoral City[]

After severing ties with Kallisto and her constant scheming, Thessalonike moved out until arriving at Appaloosa Plains, just emigrated from by Aneirin. Being a backwater like Twinbrook, Thessalonike easily was able to take Appaloosa Plains by surprise, but Thessalonike had no intention of power play or politics. Thessalonike had a different plan: first, Appaloosa Plain's status as a backwater allowed Thessalonike to establish a new local order, effectively gaining autonomy, since SimNation was too entrenched in defense of Bridgeport, as demonstrated by their failure to retake Twinbrook from David Pollair. What Thessalonike did instead was to establish a new social structure, also rebelling away from the celebrity culture based on acting, viewing them as shameful and weak. Rather, Thessalonike established a gladiatoral culture, in which fame and wealth was gained via martial prowess.

To do so, Thessalonike established martial schools and arenas, and many a disillusioned citizen of SimNation moved there for a new chance in life, hoping to make a living via a career in the bloodless gladiatoral arena. Having done so, Appaloosa Plains became known as a town of gladiators, and the land which was once rustic was turned into a haven of martial artists, gathering worthy fighters from all edges of the world.

Thessalonike does not really concern herself with the growing Ecclesiarchy, although Thessalonike finds them of some value given their love of power. With the Supernatural Revolution, Thessalonike takes a rather hostile view of those who use magic, although they are accepted in the arenas. Thessalonike however is quite eager to embrace alchemical products, and has sponsored the creation of a store to cater to the combatants.

Trivia[]

  • Thessalonike's birthday is an homage to Khorne, whose sacred number is 8 (19-11). Thessalonike's the most obvious one, since Khorne is of martial honor, something that Thessalonike embraces very well.
  • Thessalonike initially started out with No Sense of Humor to portray Thessalonike as a straightforward one. However, Thessalonike started to lose that streak, becoming more "bad" and not afraid to get bad reputation by cheating on dates.
