Poppy and Dorian are the only two housemates who immediately go out and search for a job, and Poppy finds a career in journalism. Although Poppy proves herself to be a good journalist (she manages to uncover an fund embezzlement scheme within the local military facility), her true passion is art. Poppy spends most of her free time painting, and eventually builds up the skill to do a picture of Dorian Gray. However, despite living with Chrysalis's daughter Talia, she is still loyal to her mother Carabosse. Poppy reports information back to Carabosse, who uses Poppy as one of her pawns to carry out her plans. Poppy's true alleigances are put into question when she saves Dorian from a cursed Hansel Holzfäller with fairy dust she acquired from Carabosse. Hansel was sent by Carabosse to wreak havoc, which means Poppy has thrown a spanner into her mother's plans. Carabosse chastises Poppy, before instructing her to learn alchemy. While building up her alchemic skills, Poppy falls for Prince Charming. However, Carabosse disregards Poppy's emotions and tells her that Charming must marry Ella - not her. Carabosse eventually uses Poppy's alchemy skills to create a Potent Sleep elixir which they use on Rose, cursing her into a deep sleep. However, Poppy feels guilty and later joins Talia and Glinda in defeating Carabosse. Some time later, Poppy is approached by Elizabeth.
