Galatea "Pi" Tarantina, born March 20th some time in the 3rd century B.C., is one of the many insane Sims of the Time Paradox story alongside 5 of the 6 Big 6 and Isis Stone. Pi has debuted in the fourth chapter of the subset story New Homeland that centers around the orphanage that was destroyed as a result of non-hostile fire against Bridgeport. Galatea is not a member of the Ecclesiarchy, although Galatea's closest buddies are the big members of the Church.
Before the Warp
Pi was an ordinary girl in the Hellenic city of Taras, which was rather conveniently located as to attract the attention of the Romaioi. Despite that, Taras was not facing much difficulty at the time being, given the fact that Pyrrhos was at the time campaigning against the Romaioi. However, Pyrrhos has positioned garrisons in the city, causing some unrest in the city. Pi was not originally named Pi. Rather, Pi was named Galatea at the time (after all, not many would name a child after a letter, would they?). But Pi was already rather unconventional at the times, and often spent times outside despite the discouragements from close relatives and friends of parents, as Pi's somewhat apparently illogical thinking scared some of the townspeople. In an escapade, Galatea ends up finding a orb of light, which Galatea takes without delay. Given that the light was very dim, it doesn't attract the attention of the Epeirote garrison, and Galatea takes it into her closest possession. However, as Galatea holds on to the orb, orb increasing glows brighter, and Galatea grows even less conventional to the point where Galatea essentially became a pariah, and to the point Epeirote garrison believing Galatea to be a sign, or worse, an agent of the Romaioi. Driven out, Galatea lived for some time in the woods, until the orb of light emits a light bright enough to consume Galatea...
With minds alike
And Galatea, now taking the name Pi given the irrationality that Galatea was known for, ends up at a large house. What Pi saw were some Sims, who immediately took interest in Pi. Pi spoke as usual, speaking what does not seem rational. Much to Pi's surprise and joy, most of the residents of the new house didn't find Pi strange: no, rather, they found Pi quite entertaining. Pi also found their tastes funny, given that some of them had wacky hair settings, something that Pi appreciated.
However, the strangers who introduced themseles in an amicable way tended to harbor secrets. Also, those with the wackiest hair color seemed to be the most ambitious of them all, one of them supposedly leading the rest, while the other building things out of metal for some cultish movement supporting a tyrant of the mainland. Pi however could not resist the fact that Pi finally found companionship of likeminded fellows, who were all too eager to spread their wisdom to her. Later on Pi was given a dossier on an ordinary student, although Pi was initially inclined to believe that the boy was another one of the like-minded people. However, Pi ends up finding out that the those like-minded were largely limited to the boundaries of her new home. Pi was glad in one way to enjoy the diverse number of fruits, much more diverse than even the diet that Pi ended up taking up in her short stay at the woods as a pariah, as well as the abundance of fish in the regions near her new home. On the other hand, Pi wasn't so sure about the new setting: lacking lush vegetations as well as the rigidness of the system: vegetations moved aside for a growing heap of machines that churn out more machines.
Trivia
- Pi's character and personality design is largely based on the League of Legends champion Lulu. On the other hand, the naming scheme was based on Teletubbies: Lala and Po, and hence Pi to pair it up with Lulu.
- As mentioned, pi is an irrational number.
