Prologue
Hello there. My name is Marie Curie Dunning and I have just moved into Starlight Shores. This was partly my fault, but that's a story for later. I live with my mom (Elizabeth), dad (Ben), Amelia and Raymond . I'm used to a quiet lifestyle, despite my mom being the total opposite. She's always been into the music/acting/showbiz stuff and that's fine with me, as long as I don't get dragged into it. My dad's super busy with work all the time, so that just leaves me with my siblings. We moved from Riverview, which was an amazing place. I had so many friends (Lisa, Ethan, Holly, Tatiana, Anita, Carlotta, and more) and there was always something to do to keep us busy. Even Mia (who I call Amelia. She pretends to hate it but I know she likes it) had a great first 10 years there. She was best friends with that weird Laurel girl- no offense, Laurel, but big ears much?- and loved to play on our computer. WHICH we had to sell. I love to write stories and books and am a level 10 writer. One of my books actually turned into a movie, which was pretty exciting. Well, I guess this is a good enough prologue for now. I'll start my adventure of Starlight Shores in a little bit, ok? I know you'd love to read it.
Chapter 1: Moving in
I looked out of our limo's tinted windows through the pouring rain. So far this was not a good start to our new life. Hopefully, if nothing else improves, the weather will. As we drive down the road to our new house, I sighed. My sister Mia reached across little Raymond's lap to swat my knee. "Don't be such a downer, Marie. I'm sure you'll like it once we get settled," Mia lectured me. I made a face and turned away from her. Dad had said our house was the biggest in the neighborhood, which of course I hated at once. I didn't like to call attention to myself after being stuck on a desert (kind of.) island and being rescued on live tv, you don't really want the spotlight for a while. Or forever. We pulled into the driveway and Dad quickly shooed us out of the car. I stepped out onto the crisp green grass and took a deep breath.
