Gretel Gemimah Birgenstein (née Sowieich) (pronounced greh·tul je·mime·ah ber·gen·steen née zo·vee·eik) is the wife of of Hans Birgenstein and the mother of Gemma Birgenstein and Chryssie Birgenstein. She forced her eldest daughter out of the family to live on her own last year.

Gretel was born into a very rich family in Windenburg. She spent her time with her horses and dossing around. She went to a private school, where she met one of the teacher's sons, Hans Birgenstein. The two held a secret relationship together, until Hans' father found out, and the two were forbidden to see eachother. Gretel would sneak out in her teens to meet Hans, and when she left school, she removed her family from her mind, and has ignored them until their death. She gave birth to Gemma in the 70's, she adored attention, and the family gave it to her. Chryssie was born later, and the attention was given to her, a jealous Gemma decided to wreck Chryssie's room (while she was in it). Causing pain, debt and such, Gretel abandoned Gemma in the house while the rest moved to Bridgeport.

Gretel wears very conservative clothes, such as a black poloneck jumper and a black skirt. Since Gretel's life became darker, she started wearing darker clothes.

  • Gretel's everyday wear.
  • Gretel's formal wear.
