Gertrude Paul, also known as Gerty, is the titular character of lilsimsie's The Sims 3: Generations and The Sims 3: University Life let's play series on YouTube.

Twitch Stream history

Gertrude was first created by YouTuber and Twitch streamer lilsimsie, also known as Kayla, on September 3, 2017 during a Twitch stream for the Ugly to Beauty Legacy challenge. The original idea of Gertude's character was to make the ugliest Sim possible, then get married to someone attractive, have children with them, and try to get the least ugliest children. She also experimented with The Sims 3's Create-A-Style Tools, making Gertrude's house completely covered in zebra print pattern, calling it "subtle zebra print." She did this challenge for seven streams. In this series of streams, Gertrude gets married to man named Calvin Riffin, and has five children, Jake Paul, Lagoon Paul, Tana Mongoose Paul, Tessa Brooks Paul, and Rick Crompton Paul. Gertrude's last name is a joke in reference to the infamous Jake and Logan Paul, joking that she may be distantly related to the two.

After the Ugly to Beauty Challenge, Kayla made a new stream series where she took Gertrude to university to play the The Sims 3: University Life, traveled with The Sims 3: World Adventures, took her to the big city to play The Sims 3: Late Night, made her a famous acrobat in The Sims 3: Showtime, sent her to Isla Paradiso to play with The Sims 3: Island Paradise, and giving Gertrude several horses in Appaloosa Plains to play with The Sims 3: Pets. She eventually decided to set up a game that revolved around Gertrude's childhood, so she could introduce Gerty to her YouTube channel and start a The Sims 3: Generations let's play.

The Sims 3: Generations Let's Play

The Generations let's play ended up being 35 parts long and starts when Gertrude is a toddler, and ends after she is a young adult and has graduated from high school, leading into the next let's play with her, which is University.

Toddler years

Gertrude was born in Meadow Glen to her mother, Marina Soss and an unknown man who has the last name of Paul, which is why she has a different last name than her mom. It's unknown who her biological father is, but Kayla has hinted that it could be Greg Paul, Logan Paul, or Jake Paul. Her traits were Grumpy and Genius. The two lived in a small two bedroom starter home. Her mom worked in the Education career, where she met her boss Blake Douglas, and they became boyfriend and girlfriend. Gertrude also had an imaginary friend doll named Snuggles.

Childhood

She aged up in Part 3, and gained the Diva trait. Her mother got married to Blake Douglas, who changed his name to Blake Soss. They moved into Blake's house and Marina got pregnant with her second child. Soon Gertrude had a little half-sister named Penne Soss, who was born in part 5. She got pregnant again, and during Marina's pregnancy, Marina met a woman named Astrid Painter-Kessler. Although Marina and Astrid were both married and had children together, they began to have an affair together. In part 7, Gertrude's younger half-brother Alfred Soss was born.

Teen Years

She aged up to a teenager in Part 8, and gained the Mean-Spirited trait. In Part 9, Blake discovers that Marina had cheated on her with Astrid, and they got a divorce. However, Marina was pregnant with another child of his. In Part 10, Gertrude's younger twin brother and sister, Drake, and Barbie Soss. In a later part, she tries asking Irene Funke to prom but she says no, so instead, Gertrude went with Gerald Williams, and they begin dating. Gertrude won prom queen, even though nobody really liked her. It's possible they did it to make fun of her. Her mother later gets married to Astrid Soss, and Gertrude goes with them to China on their honeymoon. However, in Part 21, when Astrid later learns that Marina had gotten herself pregnant with another one of Blake's children, they got divorced. Later, in Part 22, Marina gives birth to Gertrude's youngest half-brother, Preston Soss.

Young Adult Years

In Part 33, Gertrude aged up into a Young Adult and gained the Irresistible trait. She aged up, graduated from high school, and then worked very hard at her logic skill on the chemistry set until she could make the Imaginary Friend Metamorphium potion for Snuggles, then turned Snuggles into a human in the final 35th part. She got a great scholarship for college as well.

The Sims 3: University Life Let's Play

The Sims 3: University LIfe let's play with Gerty is currently going on and has 6 parts.

In University, Gerty goes to college and majors in the Fine Arts. She lives in a sorority with a bunch of other girls who don't like her and makes some enemies there. She gets in the rebel social group and often spray painted places around the university, which got her arrested at one point. She tries to date a guy named Mugsy Brotoaski, (who Kayla calls "Bugsy") but it didn't work out so well. She ends up getting cheated on and rebounds with two older men, Rex Lovelace and Lewis Rodgers. Clearly, she has been influenced by her mom in the way of dating, cheating, and adultery. She gets a good grade on her finals even though she stayed up all night the previous day. At her after-finals party, she flirts with Mugsy again, but Rex catches her. When he does, Gerty flees the University and heads home as it was time for the semester to be ended. At home, we see the familiar faces of Marina, Blake, and the kids who are there when she returns home.
