General Buzz Grunt is a minor recurring character in the StrangeTown Monty (STM) Machinima Series. Despite not having as many scenes as other recurring characters, STM Grunt is an interesting enough case study to warrant a fanon page of his own.

STM Grunt's preferred term of address is "The General". He does not hesitate to make that clear to everyone he comes in contact with. The Strangetown residents do not recall exactly when they began addressing Buzz Grunt as "The General", but it was probably not long after he hit Adulthood. However, nobody else in Strangetown (except his soldiers and sons) are expected to say "Yes Sir" to him, though one instinctively uses the term "Sir" when the topic revolves around General Grunt (1).

The military is his life. Remove that, and Buzz Grunt loses his identity (2).

The General would like all his three sons to follow the great Grunt military tradition. He is pleased that his firstborn, Tank is (or appears to be) conforming. He is greatly disappointed with Ripp, but has not stopped coaxing his middle son (who still insists on calling him "Dad" instead of "Sir"). The youngest boy, Buck, appears to be half-hearted, and spends WAY too much time with PT9's daughter.

Despite being rigid, overbearing and xenophobic, Grunt is not a tyrant, as he allows his sons to play video games. But if the boys wish to go out, they would have to tell him exactly where they are going, before approval is granted. While the Smith and Specter lots are certainly out of bounds, Grunt is more open to them visiting community lots or the homes of those he perceives to be "good folk".

Despite Grunt's aura of authority, he has ironically fulfilled the role of a buffoon (3).

In Season 2, Grunt the control freak has also unwittingly pawned his fate, by placing his reputation in the hands of those whom he cannot predict.

Will the General recover from his sticky situations?

(1) Ophelia's speech in STM 2.05(A), though she was not addressing the General himself.

(2) The author did a video experiment, in which he gave Buzz Grunt a non-military makeover, and several fans commented that they could not recognize him.

(3) STM 1.09 - when you least expect a comical scene. STM's consistent buffoon is Ajay Loner.
