Dorothée Dortheimer is a member of the 7th generation of the large and powerful Dortheimer legacy. She is a clever Sim, who unfortunately loves to swagger about it.

Childhood[]

Dorothée was born in the sleepy town of Huntsville. Her mother Rosalène was a naturalist and her father Patrick was a superstar Athlete. Rosalène was a really caring mother and she took care of her a lot, and she taught Dorothée all her toddler skills, as Patrick was really busy with his career. She quickly got a sister, Lily, and the two girls soon became Best Friends.

She grew up in an healthy child and at school, she stood out of the crowd by her intelligence. She had a really fast learning skill and as such, she soon became bored while the teachers had to reexplain some things to the other kids.

She was extremely unpopular at school: first, other kids were jealous of her great grades. But mostly, Dorothée was extremely snooty. She was continuously strutting about her being "far more intelligent, bright and beautiful" than the others children. To get things worse, she was the teachers' favorite and they always took Dorothée's side. This resulted in the teacher's ignoring the kids that complained about Dorothée rather humiliating comments.

Her parents were really proud of her and did not care when other kids' parents complained to them about Dorothée's attitude at school. Her sister admired her and she wanted to be as intelligent as her sister, a thing she accomplished. However, Lily was less despised than her sister because of her less arrogant demeanor.

Tragedy struck when her father, who was taking a bath in the sea, got stung by a Box Jellyfish and died due to its extremely hazardous and painful venom. It wasn't the first nor the last time someone would die in the sea near the red seashore villa: Dorothée's grandfather walked on a deadly reef stonefish (one of the most poisonous fishes in the entire ocean), and much later, Lunaire Dortheimer would drown in it.

Rosalène then had to raise her daughters alone. Hopefully for her, Lily and Dorothée were really mature and didn't need their mother as much as other children.

Teenage Years and University[]

When she became a teen, she became even more obnoxious than before with the other students. She took a teen job in the Business career track and reached it's top at lightning speed. She also was ready to do everything to outshine the others with the most cunning methods.

One day, Rosalène brought home a gift she received at work: a cowplant. However, Rosalène locked it away from her daughters, fearing an accident. She also warned them about the gruesome end that awaited them if they got preyed on by the monstruous plant. She also gained 7 scholarships thanks to her skills.

When both her and Lily wer teens, they went to university. They were as talented as ever and Dorothée was also as mean and haughty as ever. Dorothée's and Lily's ease toward studies (despite not working at all outside class) clashed with the harsh reputation of the Academie Le Tour, where even hard-working students had difficulties with their studies and had no freetime at all. Combined with Dorothée's constant scorn and arrogance, this sent half of the other students to the nursing home due to a deep depression.

There is one student however that had not to hear about Dorothée's big and easy success and beauty: Stéphane Deschamps, Dorothée's crush. When she was near him, her braggin'-o-meter typed in the zero and she couldn't say anything out of shyness.

Stéphane, who knew Dorothée's reputation, noticed that Dorothée was highly smitten with him, and was proud of being the sole student that impressed her. However, her reputation first led him to avoid her. Seeing that Stéphane did not really want to go out with Dorothée and that this saddened her a lot, Lily decided to push Stéphane toward her sister. At first, Stéphane was rather reluctant, but no one dare underestimate Lily's highly persuasive personality, and Stéphane was finally convinced to give it a try.

Dorothée and Stéphane went steady together, and it wasa breath of fresh air for all the other students, as Dorothée now had far less time to boast and humiliate them, dallying with her other-half most of the time.

She graduated with the honors, as expected, and returned to Huntsville with Stéphane and Lily.

Adulthood[]

When she came back to Huntsville, Dorothée married Stéphane, and she quickly got pregnant. In the meantime, they were offered a nice house in Sunset Valley, sold by distant cousins, Sierra and Orsolina Dortheimer. Dorothée did not want to move away, but Lily, who still was upset with her father's death, accepted the offered and moved out to the Tudor Mansion near the cliffs.

Dorothée then gave birth to her daughter Magdala. She also took a job employed in a huge concreting company (that would still exist years and years later): Beton Inc. As ever, she enjoyed a lot to brag about her brains, and she was not very popular at work. Even her boss did not like her, but he couldn't get rid of her as her brightness already benefitted to the entertprise, and dismissing her could be threatening for the enterprise's perennity: Dorothée family was really influential both in the Business world and in the politics, especially near Twinbrook, and cooling down those relations could be fatal for Beton Inc. Beton Inc best partner, MorcuCorp, based in Barnacle Bay, was directed by Margaux Dortheimer and later by her daughter Pierrette. And Dorothée knew many politicians, including in Twinbrook (including the deputy, Andrée Dortheimer), where Beton Inc had some advantageous contracts. Moreover, Dorothée's affiliation with the said people allowed her to make some doubtful, yet gainful deals.

One day, Stéphane accidentally broke a lock in the house and a path opened toward a staircase. He climbed it, and when upstairs in the dark, he saw some bewitchin light and a smelt a delicious scent. He approached the light... and got eaten by Rosalène's cowplant.

Dorothée was astonished and desperate. To get things worse, Rosalène also died of Old Age soon after, letting Dorothée raise Magdala alone. She got rid ofthat blasted plant and took some time off.

She spent her freetime tanning on her beach and she also liked to paint. After a month her pain was healed and sha was back to business.

Her daughter Magdala obviously inherited of her fast learning skills and memory, and she was as good at school as Dorothée. However, Magdala was far kinder with the others than her mother and she tried to help the other children at school instead of depreciating her. Dorothée did not understand why.

She frequently visited Lily in Sunset Valley, but she did not like her new house. Perched on the cliffs, the house had no private beach. Dorothée often pointed out that the cliffs were rather sharp and fat more dangerous than her beach, but Lily did not see things this way, still being scared of the sea and it's threatening creatures. Lily's daughter Solange was a tad younger than Magdala and the two cousins got along rather well.

One day, the CEO of Beton Inc fell ill and had to retire early. He decided to assign his office to Dorothée. At this assignment, she did wonders and tripled the company's turnover and Beton Inc became one of the biggest concreting companies in the world.

Magdala went to university and led brilliant studies, and when she came back, she took a job in the Paranormal. Dorothée became an elder, but she did not want to retire. She was placed among the most influent women in SimNation by the magazine Sebrof (equivalent of the real-life Forbes), before the Minister of Ecology and Environment Anne Roquelaure.

Dorothée met during a posh, masked ball another elderly businesswoman, Yvette Prunier, CEO of the road transport company Prunier&Waterlily, who had a son, Albert, who was the same age than Magdala. They introduced them to each over and they fast became friends, and then lovers. They got married and Magdala became pregnant.

Dorothée fell ill, though, and she had to retire. She made a deal with Yvette and they merged their enterprises (as such, the concretig company would not need to pay for material transport anymore), and the CEO office was granted first to Yvette and it would later be passed to Albert, as Magdala was not interested in the Business world.

Dorothée saw the birth of her first two grandchildren, Gabriel and Dagmar. She spoiled them a lot and narrated them the long story of her life, filled as ever with compliments toward her own intelligence and her wide array of skills.

Dorothée finally died of old age peacefully just before the birth of her third grandchild, Fanny. She was buried in her private cemetery right next to her ill-fated husband.

Trivia[]

  • Dorothée, despite not being the family's matriarch, is the very first Dortheimer I created, some weeks after the launch of The Sims 2 Open For Business.
  • Originally, Dorothée did not wear jewels (Bon Voyage had not been even announced at the time. I added the earring and the necklace when I recreated her for the Sims 2 a lot of time later. The Same thing goes for the seashore villa:at first is was a normal villa place placed near some water.
  • Dorothée Dortheimer is one of the two only Sims in the legacy to have a Sims 3 appearance despite she has never lived in any Sim 3 neighborhood (the other is Dorothée's mother Rosalène.
