The Bachelor family is the first family to settle in Willow Creek as part of the Build a City challenge. They start off as a family of three: Milton and Enriqueta who try to make ends meet by fishing and gardening, and their troublemaker son Simis who just wants to be independent as soon as possible. They struggle at first but gradually make money by selling dragonfruit and other crops to wandering traders, furnish their shell of a house, and end up quite well-off.
While Milton and Enriqueta were quite controlling with Simis, Mary Lu got a totally different treatment being a late lamb (an autumn leaf or a change-of-life baby, in other words). Simis wants to avoid repeating that pattern knowing how much suffering it has brought him, but alas, when he becomes the head of the household he starts to impose strict rules for everyone to abide by. Jocasta, meanwhile, is mainly a housewife even though she has a part-time job, at the Gilbert's Guppy Market.

Notice the lack of lighting indoors. This is because the Bachelors were off the grid at the time and the house was lit with candles.
The Bachelor Home
Miton & Enriqueta
The original Bachelor Home is located in the Foundry Cove. New households to Willow Creek usually settle here first because the homes are less expensive here than in the other neighborhoods.

Simis & Jocasta
The Bachelor Home is located in the Sage Estates neighborhood. It is not next to the water, but it is surrounded by trees which makes it feel like one is living in a forest. The building consists of two floors, has two bedrooms and two bathrooms.
Greener & Greener, Cypress Terrace: "This Arts and Crafts style home is family friendly with large rooms throughout its two stories. It features several porches and a sizable backyard with a spacious garden."
