The Amamiya Family is a family residing in Pleasantview, consisting of Edward Amamiya, his high-energy brother Makoto, hard-working wife Rei, and their almost teen-aged son Flint.

They live at 265 Sim Lane, a larger house next to the Pleasant Family residence.

Onomatology

Amamiya -- Kanji: 雨宮 - meaning rain shrine.

Edward Amamiya -- Derived from Anglo-Saxon name Éadweard, meaning "wealth protector" (implications of him guarding his wealth, the family.)

Makoto Amamiya -- Kanji: 真 - meaning genuineness or truth.

Rei Amamiya -- Kanji: 麗 - meaning lovely, beautiful or graceful.

Flint Amamiya -- A hard, sedimentary form of quartz, categorized as chert.
