Emma Contrary (née Henderson) is the wife of Talbot Contrary, the mother of Edward Contrary, and the grandmother of Rick Contrary. Not much is known about her since she is deceased before the start of The Sims 2. According to Edward's memories, she died when Opal was pregnant.
