Edith, or in full Edith Basu, is a pre-made deceased Sim who resided in Ravenwood, the world shipped with The Sims 4: Life & Death. Appearing as a ghost NPC in the neighborhood of Crow's Crossing, Edith haunts the well located by the Old Ravenwood Estate, where she can be found once beginning the quest "Alice's Sorrow".
When Sims approach the well without a relationship with Edith, they automatically become scared +2 and will automatically have greater bladder decrease. Sims can build a friendship with her like any normal Sim, though her interactions will be different. Once they become friends with her, they can "Ask for My Mark", which will enhance the chances of the next wish on the well succeeding.
Her grave can be found near the Well of Longing and Regret with the following epitaph:
Edith Basu
Died from drowning
Loved yet misunderstood, with a hint of playful mischief when the moon is only partially ashine. A true moon child.

Trivia[]
- Edith is a reference to Samara Morgan from the 2002 horror remake of The Ring. Both girls died from drowning, with their spirits tied to a well.
- In addition to the above, the Static TV Channel can play footage reminiscent of the videotape from the film. When this happens, Edith can briefly spawn in front of the television and scare any Sims watching.
- As with other lore NPCs, such as Agnes Crumplebottom in Henford-on-Bagley or Greg in Moonwood Mill, adding Edith to your household removes her 'Edith' trait and causes the game to generate a new Edith.
