The SAM-7 Drink Synthesizer Unit is a small appliance object in The Sims 3: Into the Future. It allows Sims to produce a drink, while slightly increasing their advanced technology skill in the process.
When consumed, the synthesized drinks will give either a positive or negative moodlet. Drinks that inflict an "Oily Drink" or "It is Revolting" moodlet are more common when created with low levels of advanced technology skill. A successfully made favorite drink will give its positive moodlet on top of the "Sugar Rush" moodlet. By default, Sims (including SimBots) can select "Order Synthetic Drink", which will produce a randomly picked drink. Sims who reach level 4 of the advanced technology skill can choose which drink type to order (except for 88w55 Classic), as well as synthesize a round of it.
Plumbots can use the drink synthesizer to create an 88w55 Classic oil bottle which they use to increase their maintenance need.
Trivia[]
- The drink synthesizer strongly resembles the Pepsi Perfect dispenser used in Back to the Future Part II.
- Despite being non-organic, SimBots will get the "Oily Drink" negative moodlet if they get an 88w55 Classic from "Order Synthetic Drink".
- For some weird reason, when normal Sims drink an 88w55 Classic that a Plumbot ordered, they will get the Sugar Rush moodlet, like how they do with other drinks.
