| Description | |
| Jane is the perfect housewife, from her neat hairstyle to her fashionable yet conservative dress. She's neat, nurturing, loves her kids, and can make a mean pot roast! Meanwhile, John is rising in the ranks at his corporate job. He feels successful in life and supported by his family. He works hard but comes home in enough time to teach his kids a lesson or two about life and talk to his wife about her day. Nothing mysterious seems to be happening here, but didn't their house used to have a basement? | |

The Doe family is a pre-made playable family residing in Midnight Hollow, one of the worlds available for purchase from The Sims 3 Store. The family consists of successful corporate worker John Doe, his neat housewife Jane Doe, and their three children, Joseph Doe, Jennifer Doe, and James Doe. Each member of the family has a traditional American name that starts with the letter J. Soon after the game starts, Jane will realize that she is pregnant with her fourth child. The family seems to be a very old-fashioned, stereotypical nuclear family, as if they were from the 1950s or early 1960s. An official community blog by producer Lisa Smith and the household description suggest the family has a dark past.
