Desdemona Capp is a pre-made playable Sim residing in Veronaville, one of the neighborhoods shipped with The Sims 2. She the third child of Goneril and Albany. She is also the younger sister of Miranda and Hal and the older sister of Ariel. Her cousins are Tybalt, Hermia, and Juliette. According to her bio, Desdemona idolizes her older sister and wants to be just like her, which could mean that she's destined to have the romance aspiration because that's Miranda's aspiration. She is friends with Bottom Summerdream at the start of the game. When she becomes an adult, she will be voiced by Gerri Lawlor.
Desdemona has memories of learning two toddler skills, but her parents don't remember teaching her. Although she has blonde hair, her natural hair color is red. She also has the recessive allele for green eyes. Her facial structure is identical to that of the 2nd face template in Create a Sim, except the eyebrows and lips are slightly thinner.
Desdemona has blonde hair tied in pigtails and grey eyes. She wears a fairy costume and her face paint appears to be like pinkish-magenta wings. When the family is first moved onto a lot, she is 6 days from becoming a teen. If FreeTime is installed, her predestined hobby will be science.
When editing in SimPE, Desdemona's zodiac sign is not recognized. This could explain why she doesn't have a zodiac sign mismatch in-game like most pre-made playable Sims from the base game do. She is very similar to Jill Smith from Strangetown. Having similar facial features, the same skin tone, hair color and hairstyle, and a very similar wardrobe.
Strangely, if Desdemona's appearance is extracted with SimPE to Body Shop, she will be thin instead of fit. The reason for this is because she will have the fitness texture for thin Sims when she becomes a teen instead of the one for fit Sims. This will become more apparent when she becomes an adult.
This implies that she was originally thin and her fitness level was subsequently modified with a program like SimPE. The only way for her to have the fitness texture for fit Sims without hacks is by having her overeat until she becomes thin, and then have her workout until she is fit again. This also happens with many other pre-made Sims in The Sims 2.
In Shakespeare's Othello, the villainous Iago successfully persuades Othello that Desdemona is unfaithful and uses this belief to destroy their lives, eventually leading Othello to murder her. Her name, 'Desdemona', means 'unfortunate' in Greek.
