Young Darleen has a sweet disposition and a kind and generous nature. She is interested in writing and the arts, and has a crush on a certain local artist...
Darleen Dreamer (née Matlapin) is one of the pre-created, yet unplayable Sims featured in The Sims 2 as ancestors or deceased family members of playable, pre-created Sims. Though deceased when the game begins, the player can see her in the family trees of playable Sims Darren and Dirk Dreamer, who are her husband and teenage son, respectively. She is playable in The Sims 3, where she appears in the downloadable neighborhood of Lucky Palms.
Darleen's family lives on Pleasant View Road. This could be a reference to Pleasantview.

Life Leading Up to The Sims 2
During her adult years, Darleen resided in Pleasantview, one of the neighborhoods that ships with the game. She was the daughter of Omar Matlapin and Mariana Matlapin, both of Pleasantview.
Darren and Dirk still live in the family's house at 195 Main Street in Pleasantview, and her grave is the back yard. Her ghost haunts the lot, but it is possible to resurrect her. With the power of the Resurrect-O-Nomitron phone from The Sims 2: University or the Genie from Freetime, players can get Darren or Dirk to bring her back to life. If this is done, Darleen will return with a blank personality.
Even though Darleen is thin in The Sims 2, her fitness bar indicates that she is supposed to be fit. Bella Goth and Pascal Curious also have this quirk. Oddly when trying to view her DNA page in SimPE, it will appear blank. According to her age data in SimPE, she was 29 days away from being an elder when she died.
The two Darleens
There are two Darleen Dreamers. One of them, "hidden" Darleen is created with Darren and Dirk and recognizes Darren as spouse (85/95) and Dirk as son (75/45), but it is not possible to resurrect her. The other is the Darleen who has family relationship with Dirk (but does not recognize Darren as husband), and can be resurrected. They look alike in some ways, but the unresurrectable Darleen Dreamer wears a white floral sundress, and has an unused hairstyle, while the resurrectable Darleen Dreamer wears a purple overshirt. It is impossible to know which one is 'real' and which one is the 'fake', but it seems that they were made for different purposes.
