Cows are a type of NPC animal found in The Sims 2 for Nintendo DS and PSP, the "Farm Fresh Folk Set" on The Sims 3 Store and The Sims 4: Cottage Living.
The Sims 2 (console)[]
Cows made their first debut in The Sims 2 for Nintendo DS. They are found in the field outside of Strangetown, near Jebidiah S. Jerky's home. They can be interacted with in three ways; Players can either milk them, or tip them over. They can also give the cow a gift, but only chocolate seems to have an effect. After the Sim has tipped the cow over, it will simply come back up. If a cow is milked after it has been tipped over it will produce a milkshake instead of a glass of milk. However, if the cow has been given chocolate it will produce chocolate milk, or chocolate milkshake (if it has been tipped over). This is only a feature and is profitable nor more effective in filling the need bar. In the field, there's also a red colored bull. No interactions are allowed with this animal.
Cows also appear in The Sims 2 for PlayStation Portable. They appear in the "Kine Dairy" building in Deadtree, but cannot be interacted with.
The Sims 3 Store[]

Interactions[]
- Sims can milk cows to get milk.
- Milk can fulfill Sim's hunger need.
- Feeding the cow vegetables will make it produce soy milk, which will also revitalize the Sim's age (similar to Life fruit and ambrosia).
- Feeding the cow chocolate will make it produce chocolate milk, which will also boost fun.
- Sims can turn milk into cheese.
- Sims can tip the cow and make it produce a milkshake.
- Sims can play Tic Tac Hoove with a cow to increase the Logic skill.
The Sims 4: Cottage Living[]

Cows have returned yet again in The Sims 4: Cottage Living. They can be purchased from a livestock stall, and Sims can milk them. Sims can also feed them different collectible treats to produce different flavors of milk. Like other farm animals, they can be named and dressed up in a variety of outfits.
While they are adorable, they are still a handful for your sims to care for, so here are some facts. Every day your cow must be cleaned by a sim, and their barn must be cleaned daily as well to keep your cows happy and producing good quality milk. If you sims do not this, your cow might run away. Your cow also needs to be milked daily, and you can see what their next harvest is if you hover over them in live mode.
In order to change to quality or flavor of the milk your cows produce, you can give them a variety of treats that can be bought from town shops, or made at home if your sims acquires the recipes.

- Flirty Treat- makes strawberry milk
- Chocolaty Treat- makes chocolate milk
- Healthy Treat- Increases animals lifespan
- Fishy Protein Treat- plus one to next harvest
- Animal Party Treat- plus one social for animal
- Midnight Treat- makes obsidian milk
- Rainbow Treat- makes rainbow milk
- Pumpkin Treat- makes pumpkin spice milk
- Veggie Treat- makes mighty plant milk (for lactose intolerant sims)
- Spicy Treat- makes fire milk
Various interactions can also influence the state of milk such as tipping your cow (with money), which will create Enriched Milk.
Cows can also be brought to the weekly Finchwick Fair's. The Cow fair happens once in a sim year (4 weeks), and to submit your cow to the fair you can put your cow into your inventory via the actions interaction.
Cow's also have a lifespan, and will eventually die of old age. You can turn this off in setting though, or use the Healthy Treat to extend their lifespan. if you however, want to get rid of a cow, you can choose to trade them for simoleans, meat, collectibles, or animal treats.
