Not to be confused with Player challenge.

A challenge event is a temporary seasonal challenge in The Sims 4, added via patches. These events can offer new items and interactions as rewards if the player completes the goal in time. Most events will be started by talking to Jasmine Holiday.

Bunny Egg Hunt[]

Time-limited challenges were introduced through a free update in March 2015. The Egg Hunt ran through the month of April. This month, Sims might find some interesting decorative eggs scattered around the world. There were 10 different designs in all, and they were part of a new collection that was only available for a few weeks. Successfully collecting them all would unlock a giant stuffed bunny.[1] The Bunny Egg Hunt returned the following year, allowing players to collect decorative eggs once again.

#TeamTrick vs. #TeamTreat[]

The Trick or Treat challenge started on October 23 and ran through October 31, 2015. Continuing the theme of the previously released stuff pack The Sims 4: Spooky Stuff, two new interactions (Trick and Treat) were temporarily available. The player then needed to choose between them to help unlock different items in the game. #TeamTrick had a demonic door, a skeletal fish in a spooky bowl, and an interactive chest; and #TeamTreat had a lion door, a candy fish in a delicious bowl, and a usable chest of its own. Every three days, the two sides were trying to make their team's version of the item the winning one. In the end, only one of each version would make it into the game. However, eventually everyone would get the items.[2]

Spring Challenge[]

Jasmine Holiday was introduced for the first time on March 22, 2016. After building a relationship with her, the player would receive a Growfruit seed as a special one-time offering. The player could then plant a Growfruit tree. For 20 Growfruit Jasmine would unlock a new planter as a reward and for a perfect Growfruit she'd unlock another fancier planter. There was also a second annual Bunny Egg Hunt. This time, there were 12 Eggs to collect, and if the player gathered them all, they'd unlock an adorable stuffed bunny.[3]

Triple Boost Weeks[]

There were a few different Triple Boost Week events between the years 2016-2018. During a Triple Boost Week Jasmine Holiday could be found at the community garden in Willow Creek or Oasis Springs, and a Sim could call her over using the Call Jasmine Holiday option on the cell phone. Sims aged child through elder could interact with her to Ask About Triple Boost Week and Request Boost. A boost would last for six in-game days and came with a Happy +1 moodlet. Sims could each have only one boost active at a time, requesting a different boost would replace the active one. Boosts could be requested an unlimited number of times during the real-time limited event.

  • Triple Boost Week: Skills and Careers ran from August 22 to 29, 2016. There were two boost options. Job Performance Gain which would cause job performance to increase three times faster for base game careers. Skill Gain which would cause skills to increase three times faster.[4][5]
  • Triple Boost Week: All About Satisfaction first ran from November 22 to 28, 2016. There were two different boost options. Satisfaction Gain which would increase the reward for completing whims from 25 to 75 satisfaction points. Slower Needs Decay which would cause all motives to decrease three times slower.[6][7] It was again made available from February 27 to March 6, 2018 to coincide with the release of the Jungle Adventure game pack.[8][9]
  • Triple Boost Week: Relationships ran from February 14 to 21, 2017. There was only one boost option, Boost Relationship Gain which caused relationships to increase three times faster.[10][11]
  • Triple Boost Week: From Farm, to Photograph, to Table! ran from May 24 to June 7, 2018. There were three triple boost options. Slow Hunger and Hygiene Decay which would cause hunger and hygiene motives to decrease three times slower. Boost Cooking and Gardening Skill Gain which caused the cooking and gardening skills to increase three times faster. Boost Handiness, Painting, & Photography Skill Gain which caused the handiness, painting, and photography skills to increase three times faster.[12][13]

Day of the Dead[]

Once the event is activated, a UI tab pops up on the top left of the screen

The Day of the Dead Challenge lasted for a month from October 4, 2016, to November 4. Jasmine Holiday returns and will provide the player with information about the event and the Sugar Skull Display Case. From there, the player's Sim can head out and meet Day of the Dead Celebrators in their neighborhood and use the "Ask for Sugar Skull" interaction. When a Sim has collected all of the ones available, a final sugar skull will be unlocked for completing the collection. Once a Sim has filled up their display case with all 10 sugar skulls, the case unlocks a new interaction called "Honor the Dead". This gives the Sim a moodlet that unlocks new interactions with the Grim Reaper, increases their relationship gain with him and also gives a high chance of success when pleading for another Sim's life.[14]

PlantSim Challenge[]

Plantsim Challenge Panel

The PlantSim Challenge lasted from April 4th until May 4th 2017. PlantSims are added as a temporary moodlet Sims can get after eating a Forbidden Fruit.

PlantSims can be made by a Sim eating a Forbidden Fruit from going into the Mystical Magic Bean Portal Tree, or growing the seed to make more Forbidden Fruits. PlantSims have a water need replacing the bladder and the hunger need's description is changed to talk about sunlight. PlantSimism is a temporary life state that lasts 5 days and can be reapplied by eating more Forbidden Fruits. PlantSims have special moodlets for being out in the sun and being in water which boosts their happiness. [15]

Positivity Challenge[]

The Positivity Challenge encourages your Sim to perform kind, generous, and sweet tasks for other Sims. Being friendly to others, performing helpful deeds for neighbors, or anything that spreads positive energy will unlock certain gifts. Plus, Sims will make their (game) world a better place. From November 13 to December 4, 2018, Sims can opt-in to this Aspiration.[16]

When a Sim calls the Event Coordinator from the social tab, Millie Bobby Brown will show up and the Sim can then accept the Positivity Challenge. The Sim will then receive the Box of Kindness. Each time the Sim completes an objective, the Box of Kindness will gift the Sim with a decorative reward – viewing the reward, such as a motivational poster, will give Sims a random positive moodlet or skill buff. Once a Sim has finished all the objectives, they'll get a special reward trait. Sims will also be able to challenge other Sims to be kind.

Sims Spark'd Challenges[]

The Sims Spark'd was a reality TV show with 4 episodes by Buzzfeed on TBS. To promote this show, and find new potential contestants, the gallery was updated to add a Spark'd Challenge tab. Simmers could choose to play the challenge as stylist, builder, or story teller.[17][18]

Wedding Challenge: July 17–August 2, 2020[]

In this gallery challenge, the wedding destinations upon which households, venues, and stories must be designed were: Beach, Jungle, Rustic, Spooky, or Desert/Casino.
