The Cerebralizing Brain Enhancing Machine is a type of object in The Sims 3: University Life. Sims can either use it on their own, or as a duo where one sits in the chair and one operates the machine. It can be used by teen Sims and up.
Interactions include to:
- Brain Enhancement: Instantly gives them a skill point in the chosen skill. The Sim can choose between the following skills: cooking, charisma, fishing, gardening, guitar, handiness, painting, photography, street art, writing, martial arts,[TS3:WA] nectar making,[TS3:WA] inventing,[TS3:A] sculpting,[TS3:A] bass,[TS3:LN] drums,[TS3:LN] and piano.[TS3:LN] A backfire will make the Sim singed.
- Study Brain: Increases the Logic skill (albeit very slowly), the Nerd influence level, and (if at Sims University) the Technology academic performance. One brain study session lasts 40 minutes in in-game time.
Machine 1.0 Tech Level 3 / Machine 2.0 only:
- Genius IQ. Gives the
Genius IQ +10 moodlet for 12 hours, which improves the Sim's class performances in Sims University. It also increases the Nerd influence level.
- Personality Program: Lets the player change the Sim's traits and name, and gives the
New Identity +10 moodlet for 24 hours. Whereas the name can also be changed with ease at a city hall, the machine is one of very few ways to change a Sim's traits at will.
- Remote Viewing of Specific/Random Sim: The Sim learns 2 things about the remotely viewed Sim, which are either traits, relationship status, or career status.
A Sim can also choose "Find Test Subject..." → "Observe (...)", where one Sim operates the machine while the other Sim sits in the chair to do any of the above interactions except "Study Brain".
The base rate for a backfire is 12% at Tech Level 1 with no skill points in anything, but the percentage will be much lower at higher levels.
After any interactions except "Study Brain", the machine is set on cooldown for 6 hours, during which time only "Study Brain" or (if the Sims is a witch[TS3:SN]) "Magically Upgrade" can be chosen.

Sims enrolled in the Technology major in Sims University receives one of this object for free as a major-related object.
For the purposes of upgrading the machine, the game considers the device's default to be at "Tech Level 1", and can be upgraded to "Tech Level 2" and "Tech Level 3". The machine retains the same design at all 3 levels. Witches[TS3:SN] can upgrade it directly from Level 1 to 3 with "Magically Upgrade". Sims can also degrade it from Level 3 to 2.
A small glitch is that if a witch uses "Magically Upgrade" to upgrade it to Tech Level 2, one of the machine's interactions afterwards is "Replace Tech Level 2 with Tech Level 2:(100% Complete)". Choosing it does nothing.

Inexperience held back the prototype of this brain-enhancing machine. Using a kitchen strainer in the construction didn’t help. This model comes fully loaded with all the options.
