Celeste Girard is the owner of Diva. Celeste requests Stephen Loyal to look after her cat during her honeymoon after he misses her wedding at the beginning of the story. She does not appear again after the first chapter, but she does send cat toys for Diva to Stephen and after completion of the story she sends an email saying that she and her husband are going on a cruise and that Stephen may keep the cat. Mistakenly, she and her husband Damien Girard are never seen again after the completion of Stephen's story and Stephen loses his relationship with her. Since she is related to Stephen, it's possible her maiden name is Loyal - especially since this is Diva's surname when she moves in, even though at the time her placement with Stephen is not expected to be permanent, making it seem likely that this is in fact the former surname of her original owner.
