The Carter family is a pre-made family from Garden Heights, one of the neighborhoods shipped with The Sims Pet Stories. The family consists of Melissa Carter and her dog, Bruno. Melissa's strategy for training Bruno relies on consulting astrological charts and meditating with him. She is brusque with anyone that disturbs her while she is practicing with her pet. Bruno was the smallest and youngest from a litter of six. He grew up fighting for everything, and he is a showdog because of his spirit. Like the other contestants, Melissa refuses to gave Alice any advice for the contest and tells her not to disturb their concentration.
The Carter family lives in 1344 Buddy Street and becomes playable from there after the Best in Show story is finished.
