She shares her first name with Carrie the Mail Carrier from the original The Sims, and her appearance is very similar to that of the original Carrie; it is possible they are intended to be the same character, or that this is at least an intentional reference. Since The Sims 3 is 25 years before The Sims she could be an ancestor of the original Carrie. Her male counterpart is Mark Stamp, whose name is also a pun related to their career.
