Carlotta Shue is a pre-made child Sim, living in Hidden Springs. She was in need of a home and was adopted by the elderly Granny Shue, along with three other kids, Dany, Star and Gary. She is friends with her mother and siblings, with the exception of Dany, whom with she shares a rivalry because she loves competing, and thus she is said to be more of the "tomboyish" kind. While her sister Star (who is not said to be a "tomboy") prefers to have in her inventory toys like teddy bears, Carlotta prefers rather a ball, referring to her athletic preferences. The way the two sisters dress also differs - Star prefers to wear makeup and pink theme colors and have long untied hair, and Carlotta uses her hair in a ponytail and wears red T-shirt and shorts. She shares her bedroom with her three siblings. Outside, there is a playground for Carlotta and her siblings, and there is also a garden Granny takes care of.
